Hi I've been umming and ahhing, I'm getting upgraditus at the moment and been thinking of upgrading to a 700 series at 770 or 780 from a 570. Do you think I should go for it or just wait for the 800 series?

I made the upgrade to a 770 from that same card....I am running with a Phenom 965 and have yet to choke on anything 1080p max settings. All I heard was bottleneck, I can officially call bullshit. Maybe later games, but when that time comes I can easily upgrade my cpu.
@Praeceps86UK:
Asolutely! I went from a 670 FTW to a 780ti and I have no regrets. Admittedly, I only really upgraded because I purchased a 1440p monitor the 670 was fine at 1080..
There are a lot of games coming between now and the next graphics series (800).. Can you wait a year? I couldn't.
Plus I needed an htpc so the 670 was relegated to that duty.
Using the gigabyte 770 4gb. Works good runs everything at 1440p but I would like an upgrade as it doesn't pull a full 60fps at full settings that way. Still ultra but not as high on the aliasing and it dips into the 30's. Card really is a beast, but if you think you might be heading into a higher resolution in the future I'd say go for a 780 at the least evga now has a 6gb version which is what I'd get.
I play across 5040x1050 with two GTX 570 in SLI. I haven't had any issues running high settings on most games that support that resolution.
I'd only say bother to upgrade if you absolutely feel the performance you're getting now is below what you feel is acceptable.
i went from a 570 to a 770 4gb recently. i cant say that i was overwhelmingly happy honestly. it runs all of my games perfectly fine, usually well above 40FPS on max settings at 1080p.... however it does not maintain 60fps even at 1080p for some newer games. that is disappointing to me considering it is a 380 dollar GPU, but you get what you get i guess. i can still play games maxed out, and they still play smooth...so i guess that is all that really matters. im waiting for the 800 series to drop, and will probably build an all new PC with an 880 or something. at this rate though, we wont be seeing those cards until well into next year though.
Hello, I have the same GPU.
If you are going for GTX770 you will get a lot of performance around +65%.
If you are patient like me, for the same money you will get far more performance when Maxwell will be out. Now, when they will release Maxwell? Rumors saying 2nd half of 2014 which means from july to december...
This chart shows palit 750ti which has exactly the same performance as our GPU (GTX570) so you can see if you want to make an upgrade right now, or wait...

Wait for the 800 series, then get GTX880 to see real performance difference.
EDIT: actually if you can't wait a 780 would be more than enough for a real upgrade: http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-GTX-780-vs-GeForce-GTX-570

That's interesting, my 955 at 3.5ghz gives a noticeable bottleneck in plenty of games
