Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus..... GeForce GTX 580 1536MB 384-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP...CORSAIR professional series gold ax1200. ....GIGABYTE GA-P67A-UD3P LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard...Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge.... .G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600... this is my 1st and only build back in 2011. at that time there was not a lot of motherboards to chose from for the 2600K. What motherboard would you suggest or should i keep what I have. I am hoping on upgrading the GPU to one of the new nvidias 900 series or what follows it. Or if you had an extra $500 or so to throw at it were would you put it.

Let's start with that MOBO, get yourself some Z mobo and OC that CPU.

About the GPU, get yourself GTX760 or above, you can go with AMD as well (R9 270 or above)

No, unless you edit stuff, benchmarking or using APU.

I don't get the point of a motherboard upgrade...completely change the socket\cpu or just keep it,there are far more better upgrade options for the money,imo.

GPU + SSD > motherboard

@frankieg746:

I've personally used only 2 brands, Intel and Kingston and both are brilliant.

You should definitely get a new GPU and maybe a SSD.
