I just looked back at the time I have logged in on Raptr for LOTRO. I quit playing about 2 years ago, had played for about two (didn't start at launch). I have 2952hr in the game (at minimum). What are some of the hrs any of you have spent in an MMO? (BTW, I had a blast with the game, obviously, but life hit me)

no idea, but I"d say I generally play for an hour or two 5 days a week.

Usually for 10 months a year.  I like to take the occasional hiatus so things don't get stale.

I have maybe 300-400 hours in each of World of Warcraft and Guild Wars - WoW maybe a little more, I'm not sure, and I don't have it installed (or an active account) so I can't check easily. I have a little over 130 hours in Guild Wars 2 as well.

I started playing the last semester in college, the game was cheap and included a month sub. I am glad I quite, basically my kinship left the game, so I called it also. Was a great time tho, im just scared about elder scrolls online, if I happen to pick that up, I might get sucked in again. Work seems to be a good deterate tho.

Maybe 1 hour total, although it wasn't on the pc. Not a fan of the genre, but I do get curious about some games. A guy a proved my point when I played one though. Some (not so smart) guy kept circling around me and doing silly things. Each time I'd go to fight something he would get my way. I assume he was a higher leveled char as the monsters didn't do anything to him damage wise. But he would get a lot of monsters to chase him, then he would run to me and circle around me. I was a n00b, level 1. Couldn't handle that, so my char kept dying. I went to another server had the same issue. Haven't bothered with one since. I know that won't happen probably again, but I don't wanna deal with stuff like that at all.

that was an MMO that didnt have monster aggro ranges. and that means it probably wasnt very good to begin with. an aggro range is a limiter on how far an enemy will follow someone. it also limits how many of them can follow at one time. guidlwars 1 for example has a limit of like 9 i think on normal and 7 on hard. guildwars 2's limit is bottomless if they are all close enough togeather but usually anything higher than 3 is a handful for most players who are of a similar level to their enemies.

i recommend trying it out this weekend during their free trial period and see how you like the game. its also very anti troll/anti-lone wolf. you can do a lot of sh!t solo but its a lot more efficient if you go with a friend or find some buddies to hang out with

The only MMO I really played so far was Ragnarok and I've spent about 100 hours in it. Not worth it in my opinion, MMOs are sucky.

3600 in WoW (since right before WotLK came out in 2008 to the present, little over five years).

Probably a couple hundred in SWTOR (from July-August 2011 betas through launch into about July of 2012 and then a few times on and off since then).

Miniscule in any other MMO, I never got too invested in them; so like ~150 in EVE, ~100 in GW2, and ~50 in Rift.

I haven't really played much in terms of other games since I got a gaming PC in 2007 and started playing MMOs... Used to play CoD and other console stuff a lot, but since then I do so rarely... I own over 150 games on Steam, but over two-thirds I have never even installed, and of the third I have played, only a few I ever play a lot... One RTS has 300 hours and that accounts for like 78% of all the time I have played on Steam games.

I have devolved into playing almost exclusively MMOs and I can't find any fun in playing other things anymore.  Don't know why, but that's how it is now for me.

I use to play MMO's. Now I just play regular rpg's, because I don't have the money to pay for good ones and I don't have enough time to play them.

I had the same logic before I got LOTRO, although I have since quit, if I had the time and a new MMO that interested me came out I might give it a go. MMOs can be great if you get involved in a guild and have the time to really make it fun.

Guild Wars 2: 100 so far. Only got the game this summer, so it's been hard finding time for it.

I don't know but I do know that if I were to somehow measure the amount of time spent it'd end up with me crying in a corner. That's how much time I've spent with mmorpgs...

That's great discipline. When it comes to only MMOs, I have no discipline. I could play anywhere from 1-2 hours, up to 16 hours on a weekend. Well, that was me back in the WoW days. Even then, I found myself going through several hours in one session in recent MMOs like The Secret World and FF14. But then again, I'm a whole different MMO gamer nowadays. I like to give potential MMOs a try but I usually end up faulting it for too many things it does wrong. It never ends well!

Don't even wanna know :P

Couldnt tell you exactly for sure but I was a Grand Marshal on WoW back in Vanilla and played till Wotlk with heavy raiding duties and guild leading. Must be over 5000 for sure.

Guild Wars 1 I'd say arround half that time and EVE online I got about 3700.

Fuxing mmos. No time for those anymore but I do still play Guild Wars 2 sometimes to see whats new and do some WvW.

I agree, LOTRO got quite bad (although great fun). It started out with one toon lvled to max, then decided to try another, then got into raiding and decided if I wanted to lead raids I should know all the skills of all the classes and went crazy having 9 lvl 65-75 toons when I quit. At times I would spend all time from waking until work playing LOTRO :( (while working 12hr 2nd shift) I realized that is no way to live and got a good job lol.
