I use PC wizard to monitor my CPU temp. With my E6400, the software gives me 3 temps, one is CPU, and the other two are CPU core temps, what is the difference? How come core temp is much higher than CPU temp?
thx

I think that core temp is the temp reading off of the sensor ON the cpu near the die. The regular cpu temp is a sensor on the motherboard that guesses at the actual temp. I believe only C2D's have this. Or so I have read.

Good question, I am not sure. I use Core Temp and TAT, they give higher temps than Nvidia monitor and speedfan and others. I would rather be safe than sorry.

I think this article does a good job explaining the differences.
