Suitable DPI for gaming on 1440p monitor

Just got myself a 1440p monitor ordered and I want to upgrade the last weak link left in my system, the mouse.

My whole set up is black and red so is there any recommendations for a £40 or near about mouse with high enough DPI for smooth use on a 1440p monitor?

As always, any help appreciated.

Zowie FK1 is one of the most popular mice on the market right now. It comes in at about £50 so isn't so far off your mark. It's black and yellow so maybe won't fit with your setup if your abit picky :P

800DPI like always

That is painful.

I personally use a 4000 DPI setting on my G502

Nice MLG DPI.

Even at 1080p I run out of space if I try to go left to right borders of the screen or vice versa at 800.

Black and red you say? I'm currently using CM Storm Spawn, but the most important part of gaming mouse is the grip, what's yours?

I really like the FK1, but that yellow really does put me off, fits in with nothing at all in my entire room or set up.

I tend to grip with palm on the mouse especially when gaming.

SpeedLink got gaming mouses with all black and red colour scheme http://www.speedlink.com/?p=2&cat=411 there're actually 4: Ledos, Prime, Decus and Kudos - all of them are excellent as well with their low price and great features that other more popular brands such as Corsair would take double of the money.

You might go with Logitech G9X which is great mouse as well, all black and with little red.

Zowie Gear Gaming AM-GS is another simple good mouse with black & red.

Corsair M45 Raptor and M30 are excellent mouses, I can vouch for the M30 - if you have palm grip and you like DeathAdder but you want it in black and red this is the perfect mouse.

It's better than the M45 but doesn't got the same grip as the M30.

do the m45 and m30 have the same grips?

Similar but not quite the same, the grip of the M45 or Roccat Pure or Razer Imperator are all about the same - they fit good in almost every hand, what I call the sweetspot between all grips.

If you say you've got a palm grip, everyone would shout to you to pick the Razer DeathAdder, now the most similar gaming mouse I know off in colour scheme of black and red is the M30 by Corsair.

ok, i do like the death adder, its a shame they dont do a few colour choices.

The Deathadder is getting the Chroma treatment. Where you can set what color you want!

Unless you mean paint job on the mouse, then that is a different story.

800 was too slow for me, I don't know how I used that for so long. I used 1600
Now that I'm using 5760x1080 I'm using 2000. Kinda wish this mouse had another option, but you get what you pay for. :P
