My monitor (DELL ultra sharp IPS 2560x1440) has recently developed a couple light spots on the screen.

They don't show up on a darker background but on a white screen they show up really good. Looks like a couple white dots or white light coming through or something like that.

Any idea what that might be?

its either backlight bleed or clouding, most likely. nothing you can do about that

if it is a stuck pixel, it would just be a single very small dot that is sometimes a random color, or sometimes white. typically with stuck pixels on an LCD you can actually press on them (not crazy hard, but a firm and short press) and they will correct themselves. if the pixel is actually malfunctioning, it may go back to being stuck however.

Dell monitors have 1yr warranty in most cases, so yes they'll replace it.
