So the sale is almost at it's end (it end's on the 5th), and I know I have bought at least 15 games or sofor about 30$, and they are all fantastic. What has everyone been buying?

Just three for me this year -- Hearthfire and Dawnguard for Skyrim, and FTL: Faster Than Light.

I've tried not to buy much at all this year. I still have games from the last two xmas sales that I haven't played yet.

All I got is the Witcher 2. There were a couple others I wanted such as Far Cry 3, CS:GO, Rage, but I never got around to getting them. I have too many other games to play.

I bought some old games I have on discs again so that I don't have to worry about losing them or anything. I purchased Thief Gold and the Max Payne bundle. They were very cheap so it was okay. Just a few dollars each. Nutcrackr is playing Thief Gold at the moment and enjoying it - its giving me the urge to try Thief again lol.

I bought Anno 2070 + DLC (great game!), War for Cybertron, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, 3d Mark Vantage, and DLC for Total War Shogun 2. I have the physical version of Company of Heroes and Crysis but bought them again since they were so cheap.

I was going to buy Borderlands 2 when it was on sale, but glad I waited...got it $9 cheaper on GMG. Also got better deals on Amazon, ended up with nothing from Steam, very dissapointed in this years sale from them.

  • Alan Wake's American Nightmare
  • Payday The Heist
  • Fallout New Vegas (extra copy retail)
  • The Darkness II

Not all were from Steam. Some were from Amazon.com. I'd say Amazon.com and Gamefly.com were the best go-to digital services this winter sale.

Steam:

  • Mark of the Ninja (gifted from Masterx1220)

Amazon:

  • Scribblenauts Unlimited, 2 copies for my cousins ($7.49 each)
  • Spec Ops: The Line ($2.49 with $5 discount)

Came with my video card from Newegg:

  • Hitman: Absolution
  • Far Cry 3

Games I kinda wanted to get but didn't:

  • Max Payne 3 (from Amazon, $10 after discount)
  • M&B Collection (Steam, $8.75?)
  • Sleeping Dogs (GMG, about $11 with coupon)
  • Batman: AC GOTY ($5 from some place, can't remember where)

My HDD has 40GB left, so there was no point of getting new games until I get a new one. I'll take the risk that the ones I wanted will be even cheaper during the summer sales. Of course, sales aren't over yet... I might still cave.

Then there's a few like Borderlands 2 and Skyrim that I do want, but didn't go down low enough for me to consider buying.

Steam: Legend of Fae for $2.50 as a gift.

Gamersgate: Gray Matter w/ blue coins and The Last Remnant for $4.

Amazon: Darksiders 2 bundle for $13ish.

I'm working on clearing out my backlog so I tried not to go completely overboard on games.

I didn't buy much from steam like other people.

Anyways, here is the complete list of what I picked up:

Hitman Absolution for $20 from Amazon

Natural Selection 2 for $10 from Steam

Anno 2070 for $20 from Steam

Borderlands 2 Season Pass for 10.50 from Green Man Gaming

Binary Domain for ~$4 from GMG

BF3: Aftermath for $10 from GMG

I think thats everything

This is what I've bought from Steam. I also got other games from other DD sites.

  • Borderlands 2
  • Alan Wake's American Nightmare
  • The Binding of Isaac: The Wrath of the Lamb
  • Closure
  • Crysis
  • Crysis Warhead
  • Darksiders Franchise Pack
  • Lone Survivor
  • Need for Speed: Undercover
  • Serious Sam 3 Digital Deluxe Upgrade
  • Serious Sam 3 Jewell of the Nile
  • Torchlight 2
  • The Witcher 2

I have only bought games from daily deals. I missed out on the Dear Esther and Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams daily deals. I'd also like to see a daily deal for Revenger of the Titans.

To some, it might look like you spent a lot of $$$, but in actuality, you saved a ton of money. Nice haul. I'm jelly because you got Borderlands 2. I'm still debating it only because i know that it would consume all of my time and I have too many games. xD

Yeah, having Borderlands 2 is very time consuming. I'm spending most of my leisure time playing it. It's my personal GOTY (although I haven't played FC3).

Just Endless Space, which is definitely underrated, from Steam.

I'd definitely call Steam a victim of it's own success. People on Steam (myself included) have been spoiled for sales, and I guess we know when to hold out.

I.e- If it's not 75% off yet, it can wait.

Don't mean to hijack the thread. If you're new to the Hitman franchise or just haven't played Hitman: Blood Money, it's $2.50 on GamersGate. That's a sack of lunch in the 90's.

Oh.. God.. Anyways, since you mentioned Hitman down in the thread. Do you like Absolution?

It strays far away from Hitman: Blood Money. Go in, expecting Hitman combined with Splinter Cell: Conviction. You still get to play how you want, whether it be full-stealth, stealth-light shooting, or guns blazing. H:A is limited to its level designed, so to as giving the player less imaginative choices.

Despite its flaws, it's still a fun game. The gunplay is satisfying. I love how the guns feel, the impact they make on enemies, and their reactions and animations are awesome. Good performance as long as you know your computer's limit but max settings are achieveable on a great gaming PC. The graphics look nice.

I would recommend it. It's $20 on Amazon.com. :D That's a steal.

Got Mark of the Ninja, Hitman Absolution, and Ghostbusters video game (amazon)

I am hoping Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition goes on another flash or daily sale either today or tomorrow. I want to get that for my sister's boyfriend. He bought me Hitman Absolution, so I want to get him something good too. To go along with Batman AA I got him earlier.

Sweet! A second, identical thread right above the existing one! :D

So far I've purchased Saints Row: The Third, which I've already forgotten about, Hitman Absolution and Far Cry 3.

I am absolutely hooked to Far Cry 3.

Only thing I bought was the Tomb Raider collection when it was 75% off. £10 for all the games is a steal

EDIT: I did get Civ5 Gods and Kings and Dawnguard (Skyrim DLC) but I think i got those during the last sale, I cant remember lol

But im really chuffed with the Tomb Raider collection, I only tried Tomb Raider 1, 2 and Chronicles so far, but they all work great :)

My haul was pathetic this year do to being laid off from work. I did manage to spend a whopping $9 dollars (haha)! Ended up getting the original Farcry, DLC for Binding of Issac. Cognition for $5 on Gamersgate. Wanted to get Hotline Miami but my bills have to be paid. Better luck hopefully this summer.

Only thing I purchased from Steam proper was Chivalry. Picked up Dishonored and Xcom from GMG and Dark Souls and the Desert to Sea bundle from Amazon. I would have bought more, if not for the fact that i'm between jobs atm so I really have to limit my frivolous purchases and most of the above came from Holiday money.
