I'm wanting to get an HDTV for $400 or under and I've found a few. It's going to be used for gaming mostly and movies, probably on Blue Ray. Here's the 3 I'm thinking of getting. Samsung UN39EH5003 LED HDTV ($398) Emerson 32" Class LCD 720p 60Hz HDTV (Black Friday sale, $148. Not really wanting to settle for this one though) Samsung 32" Class LED 720p 60Hz HDTV, UN32EH4003 ($248 BF sale.) Emerson LC501EM3 50" 1080p 60Hz Class LCD HDTV ($298 BF sale) Or should I save money for a 40" Samsung LED Smart TV that's under $600? There's 1 tv that is 120 CMR, I think it's the first Samsung on the list. Would this give me that fluid motion look? I don't know jack when it comes to refresh rates or anything like that.
LEDs simply don't have the picture quality of a plasma. Unless you have a really bright room, I would get a plasma. If your room is bright and there is little you can do to change that -- I recommend a matte LED (NOT GLOSSY, these reflect as much as a plasma)
I recommend that you increase your budget (and size, honestly a 32" is microscopic these days) to a good 42" plasma like the Panasonic UT50.
How about OLED's? Wonder if they trump plasma. Ain't no way a backlit LED tv should be called LED imo. LED based LCD tv is more like it. OLED is the beast i'm waiting for.

Well, technically, once OLEDs have sorted their problems with degrading diodes, they should trump plasmas.. but until then.. plasmas are still the king of displays as they have been since 2006.
Another thing is that OLED suffers from burn-in too, just like a plasma.
just buy any 1080p TV. There is no difference besides the size as the price goes up. Unless you like useless features like wireless.
