i am sorry to stray off topic, but do the patches fix performance? can you tell me your specs and general framerate you get? now for third person games, i would say a controller is sometimes a little more comfortable. that's the only time i would recommend controller over mouse/keyboard. pick up a 360 controller; they have awesome pc support.I have used both a 360 controller and K+M for Saints Row 2 and both work. Although this is one of the rare games that i preffer a controller for.
As for the question about the patches. THe patches helped alot for a friend of mines performance on his rig, but for me it didnt do all that much. It really depends on your build as to how much of an increase you will see in performance.
For me the game runs great on the highest settings, the only part i have any problems with are when im driving realyl fast and going thru new areas quickly, it somtimes slows down for me. This is something i hear they are trying to adress for the newest patch. But everything else works 100% for me and works well, other then sometimes the driving. Everything on foot runs very well.
Its not the best port, but its still a very fun game. Hopefully any upcomign patches can help with the driving issues some are having.
