Thanks Mr.Cell, *tips hat*

Now to set this thread off to a good start:

New rig pics

Haven't posted any for over a year so i thought i should.

Octigen 17" LCD monitor, a small scratch has appeared and it has a bunch of stock pixels so i could do with replacing it soon...

JVC AX-2 amp

Celestion Hadleigh MK2 recabled (including internals) with Cambridge Audio Symphony 400 (mainly cause the originals were about 4 metres long)

Audio Technica A900 headphones (got them cheap used on amazon market place )

Razer Copperhead mouse (blue)

Genius multimedia keyboard (really cheap but i still haven't been able to break it with all my careless use including dismanteling it and droping drinks and crumbs all over it)

Gigabyte P35C-DS3R

E6600 @ 3.4ghz with TRUE cooler, shame that even overclocked this much a crowded SC map still makes it struggle...

EVGA 8800gts 320mb superclocked (forgive me i was young and nieve back when i got it)... i may look at upgrading this when the new ATI sereis is released if i have the cash.

2gb GEIL DDR2 PC6400 CAS5

HDDs: 320gb main system, 320gb data (music + anime), 80gb backup system

ASUS DVD Rewriter with lightscribe

OCZ GamerXstreme 600W

Thermaltake Armor 8003BWS (the one with the huge side fan)

/specs

Should be getting a Beresford 7520 Caimen DAC soon, gonna try and grab a pair of Superlux HD681s when i can too :)

Tip:

Self adhesive hooks are great for cable management.

Maybe the new kids here can look to this as a sorta guide of how to make a good post in this thread... though hopefully with a better camera (i was using my phone)

Pics of my main rig are in my sig, but for people with sig's turned off,

The last two are pics of my gf's rig. It is a really solid rig. It's got a Q6600 @3.2GHz, DFI P35 DRK, 4GB DDR2 800, 8800 GTS 512MB, Antec Earthwatts 650w.

I also have my second PC that I watch my slingbox on and play older games. It's running E6320 @3.0GHz, DFI P35 DRK, 2GB DDR2 800, 9600 GSO 384MB, Antec Earthwatts 380w, very good for a backup PC IMHO.

I have my rig at home that'll I'll post up once I get a chance. Unfortunately it's 3 years old, so not very impressive. I've already got $1000 saved up for my new one though

I find it extremely funny that people spend $600-$1000 or more on a new PC, but can't speed $50 on a decent point and shoot digital camera

I would've gone with a motherboard that had 6 DIMM slots instead of 4. If your not going to make use of all the features available to you, why go that route? Makes no sense to me...

Another suggestionNSR34GTR,try running the 8-Pin CPU power cable under the video card between the PCI-E slot and the expansion slot area of the case. This will make it look cleaner.

Damn, everyone has better rigs than me :( I'm holding off now until i'm in and out of uni as i don't think i'll be able to take my rig with me and i'll be getting a laptop anyway. Room space isn't the only problem, the size of a full tower means it's a real pain to move anywhere, though i can be damn sure it won't get nicked with it's huge size and weight which means it won't even fit through a doorway sideways.

I used to have an old film camera back in the day. Thing is i'ld never take it out with me, when i did i hardly took and pictures and when i did take them i never looked at them. I'ld like a better camera on my phone for quick point and click shots but i'ld never use an expensive bulky camera.

Well since I just now figured out how to upload pictures into posts I thought that I would see how my rig gets ranked. Ive posted several pictures of my current rig, set up, screens of a couple of games, and one old pic of my rig with its extra 2 displays. Hope you like.

It really depends on the game. With Crysis I typically get around 30 fps on high in dx9 mode. dx10 doesn't support the resolutions that I running at yet. It sucks. As for Dead Space I saw fps varying between 40 and 50 while Wolfenstein hung around 45. My quad SLI does what its supposed to do and that's pump out the graphic power!

Well in terms of the GPU it is. I'm running on my integrated Radeon HD3300 graphics right now because my old 7900 GT was acting up. I also have a Phenom II 720 CPU and 790GX motherboard. My other friends computer is worse cause he has an 8400GS :(
