Question about Dragon Age Inquisition requirements.

My lap top has a nvidia geforce gtx 660m graphics card and I see that for recommended requirements list a geforce gtx 660. Is there a major difference between the two or does mine have an "m" because it is in a lap top?

There's is a difference between mobile GPUs and standart ones, I haven't checked it for sure but it should be like 20-10% difference.

GTX660m is a very weak GPU compared to GTX660.

In order to understand, GTX660m equals to GTX550ti.

Now what does this mean? GTX660 has more than double performance than GTX660m.

But the resolution can save you.

Not sure if passmark results or actual gaming performance, because I got the same double "performance" on GPU boss.

You know that passmark and GPU boss sux A LOT.

GTX660m = GK107 with 386 cores @ 835 MHz with 128 Bit @ 4000 MHz GDDR5 (64GB/s).

GTX660 = GK106 with 960 cores @ 980MHz with 192 Bit @ 6000 MHz GDDR5 (144.2GB/s).

Now how can these GPUs have the same performance???

These sites (passmark and GPU boss) need to be shutdown, they are terribly misleading.

660m is no way near a 660. 680m is equal to a 660.

660m is equal to a 550ti as has been mentioned.

Notebookcheck is very accurate. But it confirms my words :P.

As you can see GTX660m is a little slower than GTX550ti.

And I really hope he has 720p, cause most laptops with GTX660M had 1600x900 or 1920x1080.

GTX 660m is no where near a desktop GTX 660, GTX 660m is half as strong as a GTX 680m , and 680m is still slightly slower then a GTX 660.

I didn't read it but was more into fps benchmarks on some modern games and heavy duty games such as Battlefield 4, Metro etc, the 660M running them perfectly fine so I don't think Dragon Age will require more than that, unless it comes as a crappy port.

It doesn't look like a port :D.

And he also states:

Compared to the PS4 version on the other side of the room, the PC version looked superior.

Ok, that's it. I think gamespot mambers would like to hear an opinion form someone that played it on PC. I am going to post it.

Dunno about that, we'll have to see, I saw a gameplay once with all that dragon fighting and it seemed to me like a clear port, maybe they were playing on a console - maybe it was just a controller plugged in.

So I am good to play it on my laptop with my 660m then? I don't want to buy it and be screwed until I can build my desk top lol.

I suggest get it on console, the game is going to be intensive. Also its only windows 7 or higher only.

Console is safe bet.

I hate playing RPG's on console, especially ones like that.

You've seen yourself what modern games you can run and at what frame rates, from my speculations the worst case scenario you'd be playing it on low settings in case of crappy port.

Well the most recent game I have on my lap top is Titanfall and it works fine. Is that a good sign?

Titanfall is not a demanding game, Far Cry, Crysis and Metro on the other hand are demanding games and they should work fine on your laptop as well.

@PredatorRules: Far Cry 3 and the Original Crisis both work fine on my lap top. I have Crisis 2 but haven't played it yet. So if Far Cry 3 works on my lap top Dragon Age Inquisition work?
