Strangely Dxtory always worked like crap for me compared to Fraps, same with MSI afterburner. I get pretty steady 60 fps in the recording and in the game with Fraps, but Dxtory, no matter which codec and HDD I record to records in choppy 15-30 fps.
The file sizes with fraps are huge though.
I'm considering buying a capture card too.

That is one thing about Dxtory, it has to be set up just right or it works like ass.
Capture card is still the best option though. You wouldn't even know you were recording at all. just click and go. Bad thing about my card though is at 1080p it doens't do 60 fps just 30. but you ony need 30 for youtube. At 720p it does 60 though
60 fps can come in handy if you want to do slow motion scenes.
I tried a couple of settings with dxtory, I just couldn't get it to work right, even had a buddy who used Dxtory for years help me with it, it never worked properly. We couldn't even get it to record smooth 30 fps...
I'm sticking to Fraps for now, the files are huge but the quality is perfect.
I think I will pick up a capture card for PS4/Next Xbox that can do 1080P and 60 fps though ^^
