Thanks to everyone who posted in

my other thread

I now have a temporary build planned. My main aim is to maximise value for money, so although I named some pretty undemanding games as targets for this build, they are just the games that caught my attention while not paying attention to what's being released on the pc, and I do also want to be able to explore the current game library and have some breathing room moving forwards.

My plan is to look for deals on black friday/after Christmas and get the parts as cheap as possible. If I understand correctly I can just add more ram and/or a SSD whenever I want so there's no need to buy those now.

Asus M5A99X Evo R2.0 Motherboard

Seasonic S12II-520 520W ATX12V Standard Power Supply

Seagate ST1000DM003 3.5 inch 1TB Barracuda Hard Drive

Crucial BLT2CP4G3D1608DT1TX0CEU 8GB (2x 4GB) Ballistix Tactical Memory

Sapphire 11200-16-20G HD7850 GDDR5 Graphics Card (1GB)

AMD FX6300 Black Edition 6 Core

Spend £10 more on the GPU and get a 650ti boost like this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/GeForce-Graphics-Express-Display-192-Bit/dp/B00C1XK95U/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1384625026&sr=1-1&keywords=gtx+650ti+boost

It's faster than the 7850 and has double the vram.

It's time for me to review my build and then make the purchases so I thought I'd bump this thread and see if any of you had any more advice to give before I go through with it.

Thanks for your help!

MOBO is a killer unless you plan to go with 2 GPUs and faster RAM speeds; if not go with this mobo http://www.amazon.co.uk/N68C-GS-FX-Motherboard-GeForce-ASRock/dp/B0083B6HEQ/ref=sr_1_10?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1388099616&sr=1-10&keywords=am3%2B+motherboard#productDetails 36£

for about 1/3 of the mobo you've listed and now you can go with this upgrade GPU beast http://www.amazon.co.uk/GIGABYTE-GDDR5-Display-Windforce-Active/dp/B00FTV4L2S/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1388105225&sr=8-2&keywords=270x

or this beast http://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-GeForce-GDDR5-Graphics-Card/dp/B0099AOD50/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1388105397&sr=8-1&keywords=gtx+660+superclocked

both at same price and preform almost the same (about 1% here and there)

Awesome thanks! I honestly don't really understand how to choose a MOBO but if that ones good enough for the parts I chose then I think I'll just go with that and save the money. :)

Fair decision.

I just want to say thanks to everyone who helped me choose my parts. I'm posting this from my new computer and it is awesome! I've been playing tomb raider on maxed out settings with an average fps of 35 and the whole game looks like a cg cutscene by the standards I'm used to. :)

P.s. I managed to find an R9 270 for the same price as the HD 7850 I was going to buy, and I ended up buying the MOBO I was originally going to get instead of the cheaper one PredatorRules recommended, but I think that was probably overkill now that I have it and realise I'm unlikely to use most of it's features. I'm not going to worry about it though because I'm very happy with the result. :D

Sweet =)

Since you've ended with original MOBO, next upgrade I recommend second R9 270 (you can CrossFire/SLI up to 4 GPUs, Nvidia/ATI) just make sure you're buying the same module to reduce problems.
