I want a game thats open world. When i mean is like a oblivion or grandtheft auto type of game. I dont want those games though. I want to not have to do the main quest, and just do what I want with side quests and stuff.

They all have main quests. Titan quest is a great game. Stalker if your machine is good enough.

For no main quest and lots of side quests MMO's are your only answer like World of Warcraft.

Noctis. It's a free DOS game that allows you to explore an entire galaxy of 70 billion stars and the planets that orbit them. There is no quest to finish or enemies to kill...just things to explore. Everything in the game was procedurally generated before it was released so every player has the same galaxy. The graphics may not be "uber" because it is DOS, but it provides some amazing sights if you put forth the effort to explore. Just read the included manual or you won't understand a thing about it.

go to www.anywherebb.com to download it.

A picture for example.

For Oblivion type (First person) without monthly fees your only Options are Gothic 3 and Stalker and they both need good machine since their not well optimized.

Noctis does not work on vista. Got any other ideas. Also, is there a game where doing one thing will react on the rest of the game. I destroy the town, now i cant trade there. Thats what I am talking about it.

well, if you like Oblivion, why not try out Morrowind?  The battle system is different, but has a very large world, and a larger mod community, for even more exploration/quests etc.

You could try to emulate it through DOSbox.

I would check out Morrowind if I were you. Sure it's older, but it is a much deeper and richer game than Oblivion.

For an Oblivion like game Gothic 3 (will take you some time to get used to)

For a GTA like game Just Cause.

Boiling Point has a huge world but it has mixed reactions (I will play it one day....)

I highly recommend Boiling Point, even though it starts out a little slow, there are so many missions, for so many factions. Also to drive a plane say, you need a plane licence.

KOTOR did have a galaxy free to explore, and to some extent so did Mass Effect. If you're into space rpgs then make sure you check out EVE online.

Dunno if this helps, but you don't have to do the main story in Oblivion OR Morrowind.. I had a lot of fun with Morrowind and I didn't get very far into the main quest.

I honestly wouldn't bother with Gothic 3. The graphics are alright, the combat system is horrible and it's awfully buggy.

The game is not nearly as buggy as it once was. The patches they have come out with have been great.

Sure the combat isnt the best, but i dont have any issues with bugs or how the game runs anymore at all personally.

Titan Quest is not an open game. It's very linear.

Check out Gothic 3 with the latest patch...

or Two Worlds.

or Fallout 3.

All are well done, open games. If people tell you they are too buggy, they haven't played the games with the latest patches and don't know what they are talking about. All of these games I mentioned work perfectly fine...and are really fun, depending upon what you are looking for.
