[QUOTE="J-n-Draco"]I am a new gamer and need to learn what equipment I need such as an external keyboard or not, a game pad or gaming mouse, a headset, steering wheel? I like action adventure or rpg games to racing games, to games like soccer, but really like the rpg games like call of duty ones, and along that line. Any help Please? :-)

For God sake Call of Duty is NOT an rpg !!!

But "buying" a big expensive Alienware laptop means he is.....................................oh...................................yeh........................you're right ;)

Honestly the experience you're looking for will probably be best on a console, for the most part a desktop computer is recommended for gaming. Whatever gear you have will be fine, if you can get your laptop to run anything. Please post the specs, if you could.

Well you need a mouse, but you probably already know that trackpads suck for games so I assume you use one.

Thank you kungfool69......not so much as young, but new an in experienced and I made a typo mistake a stated a game in the wrong genre is all..I mean its not like I committed murder.....except murdering call of duty by calling it and rpg......was tired and rushing and have gamed for a long time. I just wanted to know what other more experienced gamers like to use. I do have a desktop and 2 alienware laptops and prefer the laptops and is what I was wanting to know about mainly. Sorry for the disturbance I caused.

You really only need a keyboard and mouse. You can get a gaming mouse, but it isn't necessary. The wired xbox 360 controllers works well on computers for action adventure type games (not shooting ones). You can also use the wireless 360 controller but i think you need an adapter so its just easier to use the wired one. People who play alot of racing games also use a steering wheel, but I recommend it only if you are really into racing games and play them alot.

I've never used it, I just know that 360 controller works with the most games.
