So apparently I can't reply again to my original thread linked above (thx GS).

Anyway, I bought the R9 290, but it won't fit in my case. It looks like my case is blocking getting it into the motherboard more than I realized.

I do want to keep the card, but am conisdering getting a full tower instead of my mid tower to make sure I can use it.

Can anyone recommend me a good full tower?

Here's the card I bought.

Here's the tower I currently have.

Thank you GS community in advance!

You don't need a full tower, Corsair 200R, 300R, 400R or 500R is all that you need. (pick the one you can afford)

EDIT: 200R can support GPUs up to 42cm while yours is 31cm

If you like your Rosewill Challenger, then you can go for the Rosewill THOR.

No carpet + proper airflow(single hose portable ac) + dust sucks with filters(i have one) in a room can make your room pretty spotless.

TC mid towers can fit the 290 fine, I mean yours probably can as well if you either:

a) get a hammer and man handle your case

b) a dremel and cut yourself

I'd recommend this case

@0alex0: @Chatch09: @JigglyWiggly_: @Coseniath: @PredatorRules: Thanks everybody!

So Predator, I did go ahead and order the 200R. Looked like a good case for the price. I never had a problem with my current one until it came to new card so I don't see myself needing a $200+ case.

Coseniath, the caseless looks tempting, but my wife already hates my case on my desk - I don't know what she'd do if I had my PC parts hanging on the wall! :P

Chatch, I was very close to buying a Dremel. I opened up my case and saw that I could probably cut through the top of the floppy drive cage with no problem; however, the bottom part would be nearly impossible (if not completely to remove) with a standard Dremel. There may have been a tool out there, but a $60 case is probably more cost effective that hundreds on a tool I may only use once. I wish I could have done it though with that Dremel!

In the end, it's my own noobness that purchased the original Rosewell with a floppy drive cage. In 2011 (or even 2014) why the hell do they still sell cases with the cages? It'd be like buying a car today that has room for a A-track!

Oh well - an extra $60 isn't terrible. Could have been a lot worse I guess.

Again thanks!

Its too long, black, and juicy for your case to handle, 11 inches is a bit much I know.

You could always grab a dremel and hack off a bit(looks like someone already said it).
