Why not build a computer?

Also are we talking US dollars? I would never pay 1500 dollars for that.

Here's a nice powerful build that's under a $1000 (with modern components).
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/KnGLYJ

For $1500 you can have a build with multiple GPUs & i7.
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/VyxsWZ

But if you need a serious CPU for anything and everything with a nice GPU (you can go with the latest X99 platform).

All three builds will play games at High settings.

@WolfgarTheQuiet:

Its $900 tops then, that rig would have cost $1500 to make, and I'm from Melbourne as well, so I know our prices.

@l0ngshot: Its similar here and UK. This seems to be the most expensive 'modern' country to live in atm.

That's what happens when everything under the sun gets taxed. The costs of those taxes get passed onto the consumers. Or the people pay the taxes.

@WolfgarTheQuiet: A tad bit more expensive in AUS by looks of it. But yes it is expensive in the UK as well. I remember guys from US were buying GTX 770 for $330 last year and I bought the same card and it cost me £338. :(

Work out how much it would cost to buy new and half it, you shouldn't be paying that much for second hand equipment.
