Hey guys it's me again, not long left in this auction and wanted to know your opinions if this is worth buying?

Up for auction is a used i7 3930K and Asus X79 Motherboard. Right now it's sitting on $520 with under half an hour to go.

In case you don't know in Australia the i7 3930K goes for $600-$700 alone. What's your say guys? What's the most I should bid and is there a major downside to them being used?

in australian dollars that worth a 1000$ of hardware at least, that motherboard costs 310$ in us dollars.

It's second handed though , you're taking a chance with such expensive hardware, if something doesn't work, you'll be very pissed lol.

I wouldn't go higher than 700$.

That's so true, part of me says do it and the other half says don't be an idiot. I mean anything could happen, it could be damaged in shipping and hell I don't know what his done with the parts. $700 would be a steal considering everything works... this is such a hard decision haha.

It can be three years old. It sits still at 520 though. You would be very unlucky if the cpu is damaged. The mobo, that depends, look at the pic if you can't find any irregularities but the seller says it's working so...

I suppose the seller will take the appropiate shipping measurements as well. That dude has a very good seller rating as well. Maybe you can pick it up, is it far from your home

@evildead6789: Let's say it's 3 years old, is it still worth bidding as high as $700?

Edit: Now I'm the highest bidder at $530. YIKES lol.

Well it can't be three years old actually, lga 2011 was end 2011. So 2,5 years, yeah i would go as high as 700$. I've seen the cheapest mobo at 389$ on myshopping.au and the cpu at 689$

So at least 1100 $ you're paying for it new. Wouldn't go past 700 though.

I let it go, ahhhh I just had a bad feeling about it and couldn't see myself pulling through with it. Still at $600 that's cheap as chips.

doesn't matter, it's a lot of money, have you upgrade your gpu yet? because you will see a lot of difference there when you do that.

Not yet my friend, but you're right that should be my biggest priority considering the GPU is the part that will give me the biggest gains. Thanks again man appreciate it ay.

yeah that gtx460 is your biggest culprit as of now, I bought my card last year for 210 $ and it's double the performance of your gtx 460. Don't know what your budget is, but get to that first. A gtx 770 would be a great buy if your looking to spend money. If you want to think a bid more about your budget, i would say get the gtx 760.

It's not because I started buying you have to. That i5 is still strong as ****.

It is faster, but not worth the money to many.

TC in your system the GTX 460 is your weakest point as of now when it comes to gaming. A GTX 760 should give you roughly twice the performance I think.

You must watch your language on the forum, and I didn't watch his old specs.
