I have two monitors and I'm wondering if there are any multiplayer games that allow you to have player 1 looking at monitor 1 and player number 2 looking at monitor 2. In other words, not split screen (like consoles) or the same image spread across two monitors.

Is this even possible? Or would my GTX 670 have a heartattack attempting it?

I don't think anything like this is possible or been done before. I'm like 70% sure.

You mean running the same game twice and setting each game to be used on different screen; I think you can try it but it depends on how well is your cpu and gpu and ram able to run the same game twice and on 2 monitors.

I'd pick at 1st Quake Live you know it has old graphics.

You can upscale other games as well later on.

What if you picked a game that uses split screen and ran it across 2 monitors with a vertical split?

I wonder if that would work?

Thanks for the responses. Just to clarify a bit more: I essentially want to play a game side-by-side with someone but we each get our own screens with our own HUDs, etc. Something like you would get with a console game ("so just buy a console!" you say. Yes, well... no. :-)), except it's not split screen but two-screen.

Kraken, you are probably onto something with that idea. I wonder how many games have such functionality. I don't even know of any PC games that do split screen...?
