I recently upgraded my mouse and went from a wireless to a wired mouse. The new mouse is way better than the old mouse as far as responsiveness and all that. However, I am finding the switch from wireless to wired to be a little troublesome.

To elaborate the mouse cord almost seems to mess with my aim when playing shooter games. Like the actual weight of the cord just makes it feel cumbersome or off somehow. Is this something I just need to get used to or is there anything you can buy that might help with this problem? I saw some cord management type stands but I am not sure how well these things work.

Any suggestions would be great, thanks.

Wrap the excess cord around the monitor neck.

@jun_aka_pekto: I might try this, I am starting to think its just me not being used to the cord being there.

On my own desk, I loop the cord of my mouse around one of the other cords (speaker control cord) so that the mouse cord stays directly in front of the mouse.

If you want a higher-tech solution you can look into a mouse bungee:

Check out the Razer Armadillo. It's a little pricey but it works great.
