most underrated game of all time

in your opinion, what is the most underrated game of all time. the one that got crap reviews, and everyone hated, but you really loved.

for me, it's medal of honor: pacific assault. ok, it didn't get crap review, but it did get alot of hate from other players. i just can't understand why. it shanked farcry as a jungle shooter, it's still my favorite ever ww2 fps, (coh being my overall favorite ww2 game). it looked great, played great, and in my opinion had the most perfect difficulty of any game ever.

Warhammer Mark of Chaos, reviews didnt favor it and nobody plays it but I love it. Also, its not for PC but Spawn for Dreamcast, it was the best arena style deathmatch Ive ever played, even to this day and that was like, 6 years ago.

Rise and Fall: Civilization at War. RTS game that got a 6.6 rating from gamespot. It was alot better then it was rated, loved the game and it was fun to play. Its not the most underrated game of all time, but its one of them.Jd1680a

Ugh I hated that game. I was really hyped about the whole RTS mixed with rpg style fighting in it. I liked it for about a month or so because I only played Rome. After played in a match where I was the only one playing Egypt and others were all Rome, I saw that the game had serious balance issues. Very nice concept, maybe if a different company would take the idea up it could work.

i think the most underrated game of all time is kayn and lynch. i really didnt find any real problems in it except that iedos put a little to much f***ing swearingbragkiller

quake 4. titan quest. race 07. all should have gotten at least a 90.

I don't know about bad reviews and people hating but not a lot of people bought the Thief games.

They are pretty underrated in the sense of sales certainly and under appreciated.

I think the Chrome games don't get enough due, particularly Chrome Specforce, which was only given a 5.2, which for a slick game with decent graphics, good weaponry and scenery, plus no bugs that i could see, was more than a bit harsh.

I think they basically turned their noses up at it becuase it wasn't cutting edge enough or something - it was a little bit of a glorified expansion pack (though it is full length) prequel game to Chrome - but for anyone like me who really enjoyed the original game, then CSF is a good game which is worth a solid 7.5 at the least

It's a fun game despite all that, 7/10 I'd say rather than the 6's and below it got.

I'd probably say Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines, but the scores it got were justifiable given the state of the game at release.

Really, I'm not sure any game is underrated enough to make the list.

Thief: Deadly Shadows and Two Worlds.

I would say Gothic 3 because of how much fun I think it is, but any complaints about it are reasonable considering how glitchy it is.

Well, if the metric we're using to judge is tge GS score, I submit the following:

Victoria: An Empire Under the Sun GS score: 6.3 The reviewer whined that it was too complex for him to handle and he dinged it. It's a good game and deserves a better score.

Brigade E5: New Jagged Union. GS score 3.5 The story and ambience are pretty much non-existant, but the underlying tactical combat engine is first rate.

Imperium Romanum GS score 3.5 Probably the least professional reivew I've read on GS and considering the low quality that permeates the reviews, that's saying something. So, the reviewer suffered from bugs and crashes that nobody else on the forums seems to suffer from yet rather than trying the game on a different PC, he just assumes they're global issues. It's not the best city builder out there, nor the best game focussed on Rome, but it deserves a lot higher than a 3.5

Land of the Dead: The Road to Fiddler's Green GS score 2.7 You play a fat hillbilly with a shotgun and you shoot shuffling zombies in the head. If you like zombie films, then there's no reason not to like this game. It's a quality bargain bin shooter. Not stellar, but better than a lot of crap out there and give you more genuine scares than overrated turds like FEAR.

Jericho anyday i mean people say that they had a problem with the exploding zombies and that it was to linear so what?big deal...people who dont like the game are just **** who are too scared to complete it...it was fun it was exciting,and i just love the whole stop evil from destroying the world kinda games it deserved an 8.0 atleast...hell they gave hellgate blunder lol a 7 something please...compared to it jericho is better anyday.while playing the game i was trying to find flaws why do people hate it so much????

Asheron's Call without a doubt. It was way better than Everquest in a variety of ways, but got only a fraction of the subscribers.

Word of bots, macros, and other cheating tarnished its reputation in the mmorpg community. I have been playing it ever since the beginning, off and on. Let me tell you that the so-called cheating has never been disruptive to my gameplay.

If the word about the cheating didn't get to people, they got turned off by the poor graphics. Asheron's Call has always had a small group of die-hards, and for good reason. Even to this day, it has some of the most in-depth, free-roaming, and fast-paced gameplay in the mmorpg world. It has monthly updates and events on a scale you can't imagine. The game has come so far over the years, but most people just don't want to try old games.

I'm biased because last week I downloaded Medal Of Honor: Airborne from EA, and am loving it. I played it on the 360 last fall, but the PC version, because of the sheer clarity of the image, because of the well over 60 frames per second, is just so superior.

Airborne deserved better - it's an under-rated game.

The aiming mechanic, with the 360 controller, is revolutionary. Really nice art-direction in this game too. It's also great that you're not on a linear path, and that you can head off in any direction you like.

Nobody seemed to notice any of this stuff... well, it really is an under-rated title.
