I wanted to know if anyone has had the same problem when installing.

First time it happened while installing CD2 to complete the install.  Then I tried again and it happened with CD1.  Here is the error message I get:

 FEATURE TRANSFER ERROR

Feature: Packs

Component: packs

File: F:mainpacksdata_0.pack

Error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

Thanks to any that can assist.

Nope, mine was fine. May be a faulty disc. Phone where you got it from and get it changed. Do it though-its a great game!

I had the same problem installing games once, turned out my CPU was burning out, but could be memory too.   Also ,have you overclocked your rig?

If it's just on that game tho it's prob the disc

I had a similar problem and it turned out that my DVD Drive was faulty.  I don't think it was that particular error though.

Yes, that happens when there are too many T2 errors on the disc, or your drive is faulty.

ECC can only handle so much.

It must have been a bad press, that sucks.

It is something new....it is not mempry, I installed a 200GB J drive to my Sony VAIO last year..with 100GB left.  There are some scratches on the disc, so I assume that could be it.  I just hope Best Buy lets me exchange it.  No support from Sega on this game!

Okay, got it installed, but now there are issues with any games loading on the PC via DVD.  ANyone know about this issue?  My "Best Buy" extended warranty ran out a month ago, would this be a "less than $100" problem to fix?  Assume the drive is burned out.

Thanks in advance!

Are you sure your discs aren't dirty? Classic cause of read errors.

If not then you can buy a DVD driver for $36 from newegg.com and it would be a cinch to install.
