Left 4 dead 2 for pc, are the addons free?

Yes they are free!

Go to the Left4Dead2 mod site and download as many as you can!

Right now im downloading left 4 dead 2 addon support from steam what is this for?? also didn't they come out with another campaign for l4d2?? is that free also?

You have to download the ADD ON SUPPORT to play the custom maps.

Valve released a smaller campaign for FREE on PC (costs money on 360) aswell.

Try downloading a bunch of the custom campaigns on the first site i suggested above!

Steam automatically installs the free new campaigns through the updates, so if you bought it through Steam it will download the latest version of the game with all the DLC included, if you bought it on retail steam will "update" the game with all bug fixes and dlc.

It was added free in an update. With the mods generally you just drop the steam files into the addons folder and the vpk files into the maps folder, then double click the steam file to install.
