Exactly two years ago I assembled my current PC with Intel 3770 (non K) and Asus P8Z77V.
Was wondering will it be worth it to get upgraded to i7 4790k coupled with Z97 (thinking of Z97-A 5th Gen from Asus) ?

From what I see, this motherboard will fully support Broadwell CPU's and is not heavy on the pocket either. I am using a R9 290X as a GPU and use the PC for fairly serious gaming.
The reason that I considering the upgrade is that I have an option of exchanging the CPU-mobo combo from the dealer at a price. But I'll incur a slight loss in the process (the old combo works just fine), yet won't mind it if the upgrade is interesting from a technical viewpoint. Also native support for 5th gen sound good, but i am skeptical about how much would that translate into performance gains.
Please share your thoughts guys.
Thanks in advance.
