I am planning on scratch building a mITX PC and I'm posting on several different forums to see if my choices are at least decent. I'm using this for running private servers, minor bitcoin mining, and gaming. If I'm missing any parts let me know.

Corsair Obsidian 250D Mini ITX Case $90

ViewSonic VX2270SMH-LED 22-Inch SuperClear IPS LED Monitor $150

MSI Gaming N760 TF 2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support Video Card $260

Asus Z87i-Deluxe LGA 1150 Intel Z87 Mini ITX Motherboard $180

Kingston HyperX Blu 8GB (2x8 GB Module) 1600MHz 240-pin DDR3 $150

Samsung Electronics 840 EVO-Series 120GB 2.5-Inch SATA III 80GB $82

Creative GigaWorks T20 Series II 2.0 $80

Corsair Builder Series CX 500 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS $60

Intel Core i5 4670k 3.4 GHz LGA 1150 $150

Not sure if it's good for bitcoin mining nore private servers but you can reduce the RAM to 8Gb for gaming.

Bitcoin mining I can get 3 times the hashrate of that rig with a 30$ usb miner. ASIC's rule this crypto currency.

Litecoin mining I am pretty sure you may profit if you 24/7 mine with it you will profit maybe a few dollars a day.

Maybe you should google some information about how mining works first.

@MonsieurX: I would have much rather been given a reason to go with AMD rather than just a statement. There are plenty of brand nazis out there. I won't pretend to have known that AMD is superior at mining; that's why I'm asking these forums for advice.

AMD cards are the desired ones for mining (AMD 7870XT, 7950, 7970, 7990, 280x, 290, and 290x).

That's why he said get an AMD card when you asked "what would make a good mining rig".

He told you to google because you seem extremely clueless on how it works (it's not super easy to do and it requires some research).

There are no ''brand nazis'' about this because the point is to make money.

To humor you, its because of the architecture AMD currently uses for their GPUs. AMD cards are much more efficient mining due to their architecture being "better" at performing the algorithms that litecoins use. Again mining bit coins with this is POINTLESS.

The 760 will get you 120 Mhash/s at the most.

A ATI HD 7870 gets you 450Mhash/s give or take.

This gets you, as I said, almost three times the hash rate of your nvidia gpu. Uses crap tons less power, and literally you just need to stick it in a usb port.

http://www.amazon.com/ASICMiner-Block-Erupter-USB-Sapphire/dp/B00CUJT7TO

Sorry I was wrong they now cost 50$.

These all, however, would not have a return on profit. You would lose money mining BITcoins with your rig and even if you had an AMD card you still would. (if you net any profit it may be a penny or two)

And with litecoins... well.... I was really wrong. Your hashrate is so god awful I do not even think you would get 25 cents a day (mining 24/7 and by the time power is factored in you may lose money).

So to put it bluntly, this rig is absolutely positively useless for LITEcoin and BITcoin mining.

There is me humoring you.

Monsieur is right, you should be researching this, because evidently you understand little to nothing about mining and before you dive into something like that (especially if you are looking to turn a profit) you should do some research first. Literally google guides and such for crypto-currency mining, Bitcoins are not the only one (not to mention their value just went down a ton).

So stop complaining about people not explaining things to you, and telling you to do the research on your own. Because you should go do the research on your own.

@IvanElk: Thanks for the humoring :). But seriously, this is why I asked the forums about shit I know absolutely nothing about... So from what I've read from all the sources is that there are more profitable uses of my capital than mining bitcoin. Thanks for all the help
