Is my pc good for overlocking?

i have core 2 duo 6400, gigabyte GA-965P-DS3, intel default fan, 1Gb 677 memory, is this good for OC? What frequency should I OC to just to be safe?

I don't have a whole lot of experience overclocking, but I think it really depends on the system, even among systems with the same components. You just have to try it out. Overclock it until it's unstable, then pull it back a bit. Trial and error. Make sure you get good cooling.

If you have the stock fan, keep your OC low and watch your temperatures like a hawk.  Try upping your FSB by just a couple MHz at a time and don't go very high.

I used Gigabyte's Easy Tune program to OC, it was really bad and unstable.

That could easily be a product of that program.  You need to get into the BIOS and oc there.  Watch your temperature!
You may also want to become familiar with the location of your CMOS clear jumper, btw.
