we are seeing now 1440p on high end smartphone smartphone i personally think that stupid because outside of video editing and photoshopping it is useless and only kill the battery life for smartphone and overall performance for gaming on pc and at that for pc gaming it would be better off having a high resfresh rate 4k with great contrast ratio than going higher than 230 ppi companies need to ccome out with better quality 4k 144 ips display for cheaper instead of cock bagging 5k+ poor quality tn display with low refresh rate and poor crontrast ratio

For your question no, I prefer high quality IPS monitor rather than high refresh rate one.

I do agree than 1440p and we might even see 4K on mobile display is stupid, IMO I don't think mobile display should be any higher than 720p.

@quebec946: I would say no, 230 isn't very high. My phone has 515 ppi.

@PredatorRules Ewww only 720? No thank you. 720 is way too low for phones.

i would rather have a high quality ips with a good rate refresh rather then a 5k low quality low contrast tn panel stuck at 60hz this is what im trying to say

ya im waiting for some IPS panels to start coming out with some higher refresh rate ones. I'd like a 120 or 144hz monitor but i dunno... i see TN i think poop color and viewing angle. I can see how they'd be nice for some fps games, but for everything else i don't think i'd like them.

Almost need to have both a IPS and TN display and have each on arm mounts and just push either out of the way depending on what your gonna be doing at the time... i thought about getting a TN display and just using it for certain games, but i'm just kinda waiting to see if they come out with some gsync IPS displays someday with a bit better refresh rates. Or at least come out with some higher refresh rate IPS displays. I'm not a huge FPS gamer so investing several hundred in a high refresh rate monitor at this time doesn't make much sense right now... if i was though i'd have no choice.

I was looking at this TN display recently http://www.ncix.com/detail/benq-xl2720z-27in-led-144hz-b7-92842-1224.htm

but its expensive and for that cost should at least have gsync enabled with it. But i actually liked the fact it was 1080p cause it'd be easier to hit higher fps on it.
