It sure sux... Here in Argentina, the currency exchange is set at about 3:1 (3 argentine pesos for each dollar). This means that if a piece of hardware costs U$S100, I have to pay $300. Take into account that the average salary here is around U$S350 - U$S380, and youll see that hardware is PRETTY expensive here

wow... that is really bad. I though the 17.5% tax in Britain was bad. That's nothing compared to what we pay from salary: 43%, almost friggin half .... We do get free health insurance all over the world, but I couldn't care less about that :( I broke my leg once in my 26 year's ... sigh

No only on certain things. Importing is far cheaper where I'm from, that's why I only buy from resellers outside the EU (US basically).
