If you hate Call of duty and Battlefield 4 buy Insurgency.

Its a hardcore shooter for this new generation. Its oldschool, It's hard, It's scary at times, but it is also so much fun. You can't spray and pray, you can't no scope with a sniper you have to use team tactics and you have to aim. It's what the old rainbow 6 use to be not the vegas ones they were just ok. This game is harder and better and so much more exciting and crazy scary when you don't know where you will get attacked from you better have your head on a swivel in this game so you guys should check it out for $8.99 on steam

I won't like insurgency.

Insurgency is just like TI, they took the CS:S tactical elements and cranked them up to 11 to be more difficult. I have never liked the twitchy 1-shot kills of tactical shooters. If you get unlucky you spend the entire match spectating and waiting for respawn. I'm not a big fan of BF/CoD either, but I would take their model over a tactical shooter any day. They just aren't fun unless you are in the 99th percentile for reflexes. So even though I am looking for a new MP shooter I am not even slightly considering TI or Insurgency.

I like old FPS games like Counter Strike. The only modern FPS that I like is Planetside 2, but that's also an MMO so that's probably what sets it apart. Although Spec Ops: The Line was also a fantastic FPS, but games like that don't come around very often. I'll stick to RPG's, Strategy, and Indies. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Might consider Red Orchestra 2 as well, I picked it up when it was free, but never got around to playing it. What little I've seen looks promising. Reminds me of 2003's Vietcong, only it's newer and better.

These games dont rely solely on reflexes like you seem to think they do. They rely on strategy, you have to think about what your next move is and what your opponents next move is and outsmart them. This game is not like counterstrike at all.

Not interested in the cqb multiplayer games. I prefer games like Delta force black hawk down, Joint operations TR and the good old Battlefield 2. I will stick to singleplayer fps like crysis 3 and metro last light. Shame what the multiplayer fps genre has turned into :(

I don't agree with the thread title.

I have enjoyed COD, BF, Insurgency the mod, Red Orchestra and Insurgency the standalone release. I don't hate a single game.

All of those games share similarities and all of them do something different.

If your tired of playing the same BF and COD games each year, and you want something that feels fresh, than try out Insurgency I would say :)

Much slower. Has more in common with Red Orchestra 2 gameplay wise.

The VIP escort missions are really fun and tense though. Dono why Team Fortress dropped it (it was in classic). One of your team members with a hand-gun and get to the other end of the map with multiple routes while keeping him alive. Team play really shines in this game type.

@kraken2109: Its fair its not a twitch game at all like i said its like old rainbow 6 games and ghost recon. You have to take careful aim and shoot its more slow paced than fast. You have to always be on your guard you just cant spray at people unless you are in their face. There isnt even a on screen reticule so if your not in their face you have to aim.

It doesn't reinvent the wheel and has a few missing features, but makes up for it in the silliness and fun factor.

I played it for 4 hours straight. Its a lot of fun and the colour pallet is refreshing.

I fully agree if your tired of military shooters get this instead. I love insurgency but its also a military shooter.

I wouldn't pick up Insurgency, if anything it's Red Orchestra 2/ Rising Storm

RO2 Rising Storm is a far better deal. great game.

insurgency is amazing. Steep learning curve but once you hit your stride going on kill streaks is fantastic
