Hello, I'm currently looking to upgrade my computer and I wanted to know if I should go for the i5 3570 or the i7 3770. Price is not an issue.

If the most taxing thing the PC will be doing is gaming, the hyperthreading offered by the 3770K isn't going to do anything for you.

For gaming and most things there's no real noticeable difference. If you do alot of multitasking,encoding/rendering the i7 would be abit better.

Okay, so you guys think I should go for the i5 3570? or is there another option within that price range that maybe is better?

I don't do rendering/encoding, only gaming.

The difference is more cache and hyperthreading on the i7. If you can afford i'd go with the i7. It is true that hyperthreading won't give you much help in games since games aren't highly threaded, however that extra cache can especially if you overclock.
