I'm looking to upgrade my CPU from a phenom II x6 1055t. I was looking at an i5 2500k on microcenters website since one is near me and the price is 160 for a new one. Is the 2500k still a good buy or should I spend 30 dollars more and get the 3570k? I don't know how big of a difference it is between the 2. Also, I know I will need a new mobo so don't really need help with that.

I wouldnt even bother upgrading the cpu, hold out until Intel's new socket/cpu and or AMD's piledriver to see what they offer. I would instead pick up 8gb of faster memory and retire that 5870.

Not worth it,considering you'd need a new mobo as well,so that's at least 300$ for both
