ok so i know nothing about computers and i was wondering how much this custom built is worth.
2 processors running - AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4800+
2.41 GHz Performance Rated at 7.20 GHz
2 gigs of ram
2 nvidia geforce 6600
200 gig hard drive
and the case is freaking awsome
and you know sound card windows xp and all that.
thanks joemama2341
I can build a slightly better new system for $815 CAD, so I would estimate your systems worth to be about 600-700 CAD.
alredy bought it from my sisters boyfriend for a $1000 >.> i feel sick now. joemama2341oh daaaaaamn...that's sucks hard man. Then again, it really makes a difference as far as the particulars of the system. Brand of RAM, type of hard drive (fingers crossed for Raptor :-P), brand of case, etc. Just out of curiosity, did you get the sense that your sister's boyfriend was trying to screw you over, or was he trying to help you out? I mean, I would never overcharge my girlfriend's family for a custom build computer...that's just a s*** thing to do.
Well, don't feel too bad. Your Processor and Ram aren't half bad. The two 6600GS in SLI should be able to equal maybe a 7900GS. You might want to sell both of them off, and buy a 8600 Ultra with w/e money you salvage.frost_mourne13
Not quite, a pair of 6600 GT's don't even come very close to a 7900GS on most games.

Since he has PCI-Express he can still buy an 8800 GTS but that possibly requires a new power supply. An 8800 GTX would require a new case, and a new power supply. I would also say if you have all of that money to spend you might as well go from scratch and get a Core 2 Duo.

Care to elaborate why ?
Well, some games are more CPU/RAM Dependant than others, but I still use Tommy boy's VGA charts, among with the other video card reviews.frost_mourne13
Yeah I also use Firing Squad, X-bit Labs, and Anandtech for reviews, but sometimes it is hard to find comparisons of the specific video cards and processors I want to compare.
i don't think he was trying to screw me over, they are both work on computers for a living so i thought that they would know what it was worth and i dident need to check.but i dident take into account that he might not know anything about gaming computers he paid $1600 for it a year ago and it has a bunch of extra stuff, a liquid cooling system a dvd burner and neon lights and some other stuff. but thanks alott for the help. joemama2341
When you factor in the liquid cooling system it isn't as bad as it seemed before. Those can run you a few hundred dollars plus installation fees if you don't know how to do it yourself.
cuz of the 6600's or because its used? the cpu's not bad, not is 2gb of ram.frost_mourne13Mainly the 6600's.
ok so i know nothing about computers and i was wondering how much this custom built is worth.Since its used more like 650-700 bucks, It really depends on the condition of the computer.
