How good is HD 5670 1 GB DDR3?

Alright, earlier i was looking for a 4670 1gb ddr2, having been able to invest a bit more into my quest for a graphic card, now im looking ATI HD 5670 1 GB DDR3. (1) So how good is this card?

(2) i have read at a couple of places that a 1gb card would would do almost like a 512mb card, is it true? should i save a bit by going for 512mb?

(3) i have been checking game specs on a few website (i am not sure whether i can name them here, or it would be against forum rules) and found that most of the new as well as upcoming games (nfs: the run, cod mw3) will run on my upgraded system (from medium to high settings). is it true?

i currently have a core2duo 2.80 Ghz with 2 GB RAM, i will increase RAM in a couple of months, and kindly dont comment on upgrading my processor right now i cant spend that much.

(4) Intel DG41RQ will support DDR3 graphics card right?

(5) also, HD 5670 is a PCIe 2.1 interface card, will my motherboard support it?

(6) can you also tell me the power consumption of this? plus if you can provide me a link where i can see power consumption of most of the cards, please do.

(7) also i would like to know how to find out the current power consumption of my pc.

ikll answer some of thse the hd 5670 = 9800gt (more or less) the 1gb card and 512mb card arent far apart if your not gaming @ 1680 x 1200(or higher) dont get the 1gb version. most console ported game will run on medium - high just fine as well as a few of the more demanding pc games like say starcraft II or wh40k: dow II

your board supports ddr2 not ddr3 dont buy ddr3! this being said ddr2 can still be had for reasonably cheap here ya go:

your motherboard and 5670 will get along just fine

the hd 5670 does not require a power connector. while i dont know the exacts its -500 watts

ah shouldnt be a problem.. my buddy has a gt440 paired with an am2+ motherboard (just as old as your intel bosrd)

The 5670 is actually quite a bit weaker than a 9800gt.

It's closer to a gt 240.

The 1 gb of vram will definitely help in games like The Witcher 2. Without it you won't have a chance of playing with textures on high without getting severe stuttering. Even at 1680x1050 and lower you will need at least around 800 vRAM for that game with high textures.

Also a 5670 will max out most multiplat games except for a few.

Although a 5670 will need to play at a mix of high and medium for games that take advantage of PC hardware.

HD5670 is a weakling, it is certainly weaker than 9800GT and even more than HD4830.

The minimal card for gaming these days you should look for is HD4850/HD5750/HD6750, nothing less.

There is nothing to explain because a 5670 does not kick the 9800gt's face in...

Sometimes it can come within a few frames of a 9800gt/8800gt in some games, but not when you start stacking on AA and higher res.

It is still not comparable to a 9800gt. It's a little better than a 240gt in most cases especially with AA so I would say it is;

250 gts > 9800gt >> 5670 >> 240gt

if ur playing @ a res of 1680 x1200 or higher you shouldnt be considered an hd 5670 in the first place lawl :P

thats like expecting a pack of AA's to power a whole aircraft carrier for a week XD

If that is what you can pay for an HD 5670 is an ok choice. But at least get the GDDR5 edition, whether it has 512 or 1024 MB of memory doesn't matter a lot, but the DDR3 memory is way too slow for the chip.
