Just got and installed my second GTX 460 SE. Went to the Nvidia control panel to set PC for sli. Nvidia panel says and shows I have 2 GTX 460 SE's, but when playing games (crysis for example) there is no improvement in fps. I have everything connected fine and have the lastest drivers for my graphics cards. Can someone please help me?

What motherboard do you have? Does your motherboard have at least TWO PCI-E slots which operate at x8 or x16? If not, you won't see much of a performance boost, if any.

Ok here is my motherboard, psu, and cpu

From what i understand when in sli the pci slots run at x8 x8 instead of x16 x16, but its only a performance dip of about 3%. I've read some reviews of people running regular 460's in sli, so i dont think the mobo is the problem, but hey i could be wrong too :P

Ok, Your psu, cpu, and motherboard is good for sli and you should see an improvement. The only things I can think of are. Did you use the SLI bridge that came with the motherboard and is sli enabled? It should look like this

Also is all the pci-e power cables connected to the gpu's?

Ok this is what you need to do really find out if your sli is working, In the Crysis folder there is a bin32 folder and inside that theres a batch file named benchmark gpu. What you should do is disable sli in the Nvidia control panel and run that file and the benchmark will run after its done, you will see your results. Keep a mental note of min, average, and max fps, then enable SLI and run that benchmark again and see if you see any improvement this will tell you if its working.

Out of curiosity, did you uninstall your current video driver and then reinstall the driver (regardless if you had the most current driver installed before you put in your second GPU)?

He shouldnt have to uninstall or reinstall the drivers. A simple restart after the first time in Windows with the new card should have resolved any issue.

whow now this is wierd. i think the problem may be crysis. i just ran heaven benchmark and got an amazing 59.6 average fps with tessellation on and only got an average of 26.4 without sli with the same settings. and in metro 2033 on max settings i got around 40-60 fps in sli. Idk whats going on with crysis, but its the game, not my rig which is really, really wierd...

You prob don't have a SLI profile for Crysis for some reason.

well this is even more strange. just launched the EVGA benchmark test and gpu 1 is working as it should, but gpu 2 is not. gpu 2 is only running at a core clock of 50MHz, shader of 101MHz and memory of 135MHz as opposed to gpu 1 which is running at a core clock of 648MHz, shader of 1296MHz, and momory of 850MHz (stock). so i guess my second 460 SE isnt running at full compacity? is there any way to fix this?
