Hey, I currently have a 450 gts and I'm super low on cash. Trying to save up for a gtx 780 or a new 8 series card when it eventually comes out. I saw this on ebay while looking up the 780 line. Can anyone tell me something about this card? Would it be worth getting and upgrading later on in 2015?

I just hope theres no keylogger chip installed :P

Dude, do not buy this card. I can't even tell what it is. It's nothing like a 780. You'll be lucky if drivers even work with that thing.

I can't even seem to find any molex connectors on this thing, it has only one DVI-I connector with no DVI-D, it has what looks to be an empty socket where the DisplayPort is supposed to be, and the Nvidia logo looks off-yellow. This has scam written all over it to me.

LOL.

"Details about Similar with GTX780 2GB 384Bit DDR3PCIE 2.0x16 DVI HDMI Graphics Video Card HK (HK?)"

specification:.. Model: smiliar with GTX780

. Applicable Type: Desktops

. Core Code: GK110

. Manufacturing Process: 28nm

. Core Frequency: 655mHz

. Memory Type: Support GDDR3 directX10

. Memory Capacity: 2048MB

. Memory Interface: 384bit

. Memory Bandwidth: 53.7GB / S

. Shader:1375MHz

. GPU Version: A2

. Graphics Interface: PCI Express 2.0 x 16

Where do I begin?

First of all, its a no brainer that this is not a GTX780 obviously.

Second this is not 384bit GDDR3 cause the bandwidth is only 53GB/s (the slowest I ever seen its on 8800GTX at 80GB/s).

No comment on DX10 for the memory.

Second, as most people don't know or don't remember, shader and core clocks are linked each other to a 1/2 ratio. This happened to Fermi based GPUs.

G200 and before like G80 and G92 are all free of ratio. So this card is probably GTx(or 3xx OEMs)2xx and maybe older... If its Nvidia GPU at all...

ps: Speccs and img look like GT220 or GT340.

Yeah, I know its no 780 gtx, obviously. It's may look like a scam to many, but my question was if it was worth upgrading from a 450 gts, lol.

Obviously, many people can read here. So, they noticed it doesn't have any molex connectors, ddr3 instead of 5, 2gb instead of 3. Was just wondering what other people thought about it. Thanks.

Well I already answered (I think) to that too.

If this card is a GT220 or a GT340 then your GPU is far superior...

Even if it isn't a GT220/GT340 then again their shader type of clock ratio to core indicates thats an old GPU. And only 4 GPUs have better performance than GTX450 and they are GTX260, GTX280, GTX275, GTX285. The slowest of these GPUs, has 448bit GDDR3, so I don't think we have to do with GTX260 here.

Also even if its the best case scenario (highly doubt) the GTX285 isn't worth the $60 over GTS450. Not to mention that you will lose DX11. (all these cards are DX10)

edit: It also looks like Diamond 6570 2GB DDR3, also worse GPU than yours (6570 = little better than GT440)

7950 for $120 on ebay. Not quite as good as 780, but 100% more real than that knockoff.

What's wrong with you people here? Read the last line next time... The card is exactly as it states.

Note : it is not geforce original, It was produced by Taiwan graphic manufactory which has 10 years experience on this.And it's very good quality and has a wonderful praise by our customers.

That's is the most pathetic lazy copy of GTX780 I've ever seen.

I'd rather go with brands such as Galaxy, PNY and Zotac before getting fake knock off ebay China made of GPU.

So, the title is: Similar with GTX780 2GB 384Bit DDR3 PCIE 2.0x16 DVI HDMI Graphics Video Card HK

Oh dear, this is probably the biggest scan I've seen on ebay so far. A graphics card that is comparable to the GTX 780 but for 60$?

Just no, this is not possible and will never be (at least not within the next 5 years).

How is it a scam? it doesn't say its comparable to a GTX 780 anywhere, you just made that up.

It also clearly states at the bottom its not a GeForce original, what more do you want?

Also, Nvidia haven't patented the "GTX" name (can they anyway?). And you probably cant copyright names/numbers anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a R9 280x on ebay for $55 or so.

@GTR12: Why do you think its not a scam?

Its clearly a misleading title.

First of all, it uses the Nvidia logo on its cooling system. As far as I know from the Riva TNT days, Nvidia never had a cooler like this. So I think this violates Nvidia's copyrights.

Second. May I ask similar to what? Cause it doesn't say. Similar performance? haha...

Third. Okey this is difficult, I only know it cause I search the e-bay, but the sticker on the back of this thing saying: "Nvidia GTX780" and some other chinese (I think) letters... GTX might not be patented but Nvidia is...

Fourth. I would really love to see these speccs he posted to be actually true. Especially at the 384bit GDDR3 area...

"NVIDIA, the NVIDIA logo, (blah blah lots of things too) and GeForce are trademarks or registered trademarks of NVIDIA Corporation in the United States and other countries."

Trust nothing that's on E-bay and "from China" .... there is close to zero IP protection laws when it comes to products, services and everything in general.

@Coseniath:

1. The logo is NOT Nvidia's logo, the Nvidia logo is all green, the logo above is half white, half green. People with any computer knowledge would recognise that, I'm sure most people here picked up on that immediately. Cooler's cant have trademarks/patents/copyrights, I'm sure even AMD and Nvidia have had similar cooler designs somewhere through generations.

2. I never said similar, I'm not sure if you meant me or the title, anyhow, it seems as if the word similar was either lost in translation or translated wrong.

3. Umm, I'm not sure what you searched for, a link or pic would be helpful.

4. Specs could be true, who knows.

5. It doesn't say in the title its a Nvidia product anyway, and as I said above, the logo is different, it also looks as if the font is different, Nvidia can patent all they want, this card has its own patent (last picture of Ebay listing, zoom in at the middle/bottom), its got a US patent, 5 sets of numbers.

6. It lists in the description its not a GeForce product, its the fault of the buyer if they don't see it or/and read it.

@GTR12:

1. Sorry but this thing clearly Nvidia's logo. Its just the old one. Like 7800GTX. Also Nvidia never had that type of cooler ever...

2. Excuse me but you said its not a scam. In this case, he needs to verify where is the similarity with GTX780.

4. Speccs could be true? Could you please be more specific. Cause I don't see when a GDDR3 384bit could reach only 53GB/s. And why in the hell should use so expensive VRAM?

5. Now about those patents. I would like to check them in the US patent page first cause I think we can find what the real GPU was.

And since he uses the Nvidia on these coolers nomatter if it is or not the same logo its patented that noone can use it on Graphics Card.

edit: The cooler now that you mention it, I think its an arctic accelero.

ps: Accelero Twin Turbo PRO

This also made me think that it is GT340 since on its in the compatible list:

Accelero Twin Turbo PRO:

HD 6870, 6850, 6790, 5870, 5850, 5830, GTS 450, 250, GT 340, 330, 320, 250

3. Here is the pic

@Coseniath:

1. Copyrights expire and/or updated, maybe Nvidia did let it expire or they went with the new logo design. (It will also happen with Crash Bandicoot in 2015 because Activision hasn't used the character).

2. Its "similar" as it has the same 384bit bus, it has 1 thing similar so by all means he can use that word (The seller didn't say "same" but "similar").

3. "Nvidia 780" and "GeForce 780" are different, the seller is entitled to use "Nvidia 780" as they don't use that nomenclature, my 8800GTS says "GeForce 8800" on the back as an example.

4. The best example I can give you here is the Yamakasi Catleap monitors, the panels are A- and are not used by Apple, maybe these are A- chips and considered "duds" by Nvidia.

5. Coolers are AA like you said, anyone can use them.

@GTR12:

Maybe you are right on 1 and 2. Well on the second its so unclear that using the word similar is misleading again. Its like comparing a Ferrari with a VW Polo and saying they are similar cause they have 4 wheels and they are both red... So when I will sell my car (I got a VW Polo :P) to buy a new one I will type "Selling similar with Ferrari for $6000...". I don't know about you but I think most people found this rediculus...

3. Its clearly as I linked it to you that its illegal to use the word Nvidia on a graphics card. Its simple. Its trademarked.

4. hmm maybe. But 128bit GDDR5 on GTX750 and GTX750ti are cheaper and can reach 80GB/s (and more. Nvidia just used them at 80GB/s).

5. True.

Overall I just think its a scam cause its an other type of GPU like GT340 with an other cooler.

It also violates Nvidia rights by using the name Nvidia on a graphics card.

@General_X:

And thats what worries me most.

I don't care if a multi-billion-dollar company lose some hundreds.

And I don't care if this guy violates Nvidia's rights.

What I hate to see its that people that don't know getting scammed by this. People that lose their hard earned money.

for $60 I wonder what card it actaully is, if it is a GT340 are those cards any good, for the price anyway.

I'm not disputing its a scam it clearly is for the reasons Coseniath pointed out, I'm just curious what card it is and what performance you would get.

@thehig1:

NVIDIA GeForce GT 340 OEM (was a graphics card by NVIDIA, launched in February 2010) / NVIDIA GeForce GT 240 (was an entry-level graphics card by NVIDIA, launched in November 2009)

We recommend the NVIDIA GeForce GT 340 OEM / NVIDIA GeForce GT 240 for gaming with highest details at resolutions up to, and including, 800x600.

I think they were pretty clear. :P

In order to compare it with todays GPU I need to add two charts lol...

So lets see... GTX680 (performance between non-references GTX760 ($230) and reference GTX770 ($290)) outperfoms this GPU about 540%.

So the GT 240 would perform 18% of GTX680.

GT 640 has around the same performance for $69. But it has better warranty and less cost to come to your place :P. And DX11 support.

@Coseniath: so its not the greatest card ever, it looks like something like a 5450 is more comparable to it than any high end cards.

One positive the cooler does look nice

@Bikouchu35: @Coseniath@airshocker Thanks bud, I really wanted to upgrade solely to play Elite: Dangerous. Which also required me to buy a joystick and the game itself. I'm going to wait and see what Star Citizen offers though, mainly because they have some interesting ideas for the lore. So in any case, I'll just wait and save up for the Nvidia 8 series or get the Vapor-X 290 4gb 512-bit.

Keep in mind, I've never really had good experiences with AMD cards, so I'm worried, but I'll try it.
