Just because they didn't work for you and a few others doesn't mean they didn't work for everyone.
That's where you're missing the facts.
It only worked OK for a few. The majority of gamers couldn't run it properly (I'm talking about launch, not 6 months down the track and after 8 patches where Rockstar got it to a "playable" state).
Same thing happened with GTA3.
Consider yourself one of the lucky ones if it ran well for you without patches.
(To do a modern comparison, Assassins Creed Unity is a flawless port compared to GTA4.)
Well then you guys can wait for feedback after it releases like you say. No one is forcing you to buy it. Wait for feedback and wait for patches if there's problems. Nearly all PC games have problems at launch of some sort or another. Farcry 4 was unplayable for me for during launch but I didn't go and cry about it because I knew it would be fixed within a week. Welcome to PC gaming?
No one is crying here, and I have my fingers crossed that GTA5 will be a good port (Max Payne 3 was a good port so hopefully the trend continues).
The point is about the relationship between company and consumer.
Rockstar treats PC gamers like left over scraps. They release on consoles first, then a year later on PC with a bad port/product. They did this with GTA3, they did this with GTA4, and now when everybody thought they would release the PC version of GTA5 together with next-gen consoles, they are doing the same. "Let's sell as much as we can on consoles, and then release the PC version as an afterthought since some people will still buy it no questions asked".
I'm not saying DO NOT BUY GTA5 (I probably will buy it if the reviews are good since I enjoy the series).
I'm saying don't give them money at launch. They treat us as leftovers, then treat their product as leftover too (when it goes on sale).
