I was playing The Witcher 2 with Radeon Pro. I enabled only a couple of meters. The GPU temperature meter showed the temperature gradually move from 51 to 88 Degree Celsius (the highest). After that, it hovered around 80-85 Degree Celsius.

My GPU is a Powercolor 7750. It's not overclocked and it uses the stock fan.

Are these temperatures safe for my card?

Check AMDs site and check the specs of your card.

Looks fine. AMD/ATI GPUs are designed to run hot.

that would definitely make me uncomfortable, and i'd imagine it's pretty loud

85c is a warmer than expected temp, but it is fine, start to worry when you hit the 95c range.

It's hot, but not dangerous.

What case do you have?

I might get those temps in a very hot summer day, any other day they stay below 70ºC, Nvidia Card

A local one I'm afraid. I can't find anything about it online.

I have the fan and AC running, and they drown out the sound. When they are both switched off, a light whirring sound can be heard.
