Good Graphics, and how to achieve them.

I have an AMD A10-6800K APU processor, 16gb of DDR3 RAM and an R9 270X GDDR5 OC 4GB GPU, yet my performance isn't as expected. Could the processor be bottle necking my performance and if so could you recommend any good replacements

Exactly what I was going to ask. An APU with 16Gb RAM, what are you using the rig for?

Im expecting atleast 30fps+ on 1920x1080 but am seeming to find trouble with it

Also this rig wasn't custom built it came from zoostorm and I added in the graphics card.

You can blame that CPU, nah, just kidding upgrade your GPU into R9 290 or GTX970 OR crossfire that 270X of yours.

I'd go with R9 290 anyday at it's price rate compared to GTX970.

Going Nvidia or AMD is something that changes for me when comparing prices/performance between GPUs.

I would get i5 CPU and a suiteable MOBO as well, will probably increase the performance by 20% along with a high end GPU.

Well you should be getting 30fps+ at 1080 considering you have a 270x. Are you sure you are using the dedicated GPU instead the APU ? A 270x is a deceny mid-range GPU

Also yes you could have a bottleneck in cpu intensive games ( such as 64player maps on BF4 ) but even so you should achieve at least 30-40fps on high settings ( hell i am playing with a slower 7850 at high settings and i get 50-60fps most of the time with some drops to mid 40's but i use a core i5 )

Also i wouldnt advice getting a better GPU with that CPU since it will start bottlenecking it even more than that 270x and you certainly wouldnt get the performance increase that could justify a new $300 GPU. You are better off just buying a new Mobo+Cpu. An entry level i5 with an H97 mobo will

much better serve that 270x

get the i5 processor as predator had said.
