Accoriding to the latest roumors, Geforce Titan will hold 6GB of VRam, have a TDP of 235-250W and take up just 2 slots in your rig.

a

A, not so legit leak, showes Titan score X7377 on 3DMark 11, but the fishy part is that GPU-Z recognizes the Titan as GTX 780 which is just stupid.

lih

The blurred out photo shows 12 memory banks on the front, an we can assume 12 on the back,so it reaches 6GB. In the middle, the only un-blurred detail is the massive core of te GPU saying; Taiwan, GK 110.

df

Further more, a price leak has been found, on a Scandinavian site, selling the GPU for 7000 kronas, which come up to around ~1000 US Dollars. This is very close te the first leaked price of 899$, but someone may get scared of 4 digit numbers.

First clocks have leaked: Asus Geforce Titan- Base 915 Boost: 1018/ Mem-6008Mhz

ss

If the info is true, this card can beat a GTX 690 and the ROG ARES II like nothing. Nvidia just reserved the top once again, your move ATi!

You can't work out the US price of something by converting the price from another country.

So basically you can buy an entire gaming PC for the price of this card...

Further more, a price leak has been found, on a Scandinavian site, selling the GPU for 7000 kronas, which come up to around 1200 US Dollars. This is nowehere near te first suggested price of 899$, and will back people off.

Seriously, if this price is true NV needs to get it's stuff together. A top of the line single GPU should always remain under 1000$, maybe less than 800$. You need to draw a line between pro and consumer GPU's, not blur it out.

homeboylizard
no it doesnt. The ROG ARES II dual 7970 card was $1899 here in AUS, guess what, its sold out. A single gpu card that can single handedly smack the living out of the Ares II and 690 is worth that..

Good point, that puts it somewhere in ~1000 dollars range. More affordable, especially if it eats 690's for breakfast. I'll edit my post.

Not surprised since the GTX 690 was like $1000? Too much for my blood. Whether you're loaded in cash or not, I would never pay that much for a single GPU card.

I think with UHD on the horizon (albeit still expensive) this is the tech side of it catching up. Always a premium for entry on the cusp of new standards.

Exactly. That is closer to 899 or 849. Possible even lower.

Care to clarify? It offers a mind blowing increase in performance than he 690!

But, let's take for example a GTX 680 in SLI. It comes pretty close to the performance of the 690, but with more heat, micro-stuttering, higher power consumption and what not.

The 690 solves micro-stuttering, offers better framerate...but it's downclocked because the heat generated cannot evaporate so quickly, so the only solution is water cooling...which Rog Ares II had.

Now, talking about power consumption; Titan is said to have a TDP of 250W, which is far lower than 690 or 680's in sli.

And, if Nvidia allows modding the coolers, fans, etc. You are going to see better aftermark cooling solutions, meaning that heat won't really be the problem.

If you can't have something, don't diss it. Accept it and:

I fail to see where Nvidia is going with this card, is this the GTX780 or a completely different card? Given that the 680 is smacked around the 7970 Ghz edition given its price point.

To play 99% of games at 160 FPS instead of 90 FPS? Yah who cares, by the time more graphically demanding games are released (2-3 years) there will be cards of Equal power for $500

Maybe.

But with new consoles on the horizon, I wouldn't be totally shocked to see more PC games with more demanding graphics.

Maybe Metro Last Light?  Maybe even Watch Dogs?...

"Accoriding to the latest roumors, Geforce Titan will hold 6GB of VRam, have a TDP of 235-250W and take up just 2 slots in your rig."

If the blurry picture is anything it's a 350 watt card.

So these rumors are inconsistent.

How do you work out TDP out of a blurred out shot? The TDP I pulled was from a tech site claiming ruomors.

Because you can see it has 1x 6 pin PCIe power and 1x 8 pin PCIe power. For a total of 300 watts.

*Edit*

350 = 300 sorry. :P

PCIe 6 pin is 75 watts, PCIe 8 is 150 watts and Motherboard PCIe power is 75 Watts.

Quite it.... his psu can most likely supply 90%+ of its total wattage through the 12v rail/s.... and even at 100% load still have a 80% efficiency

Why would anyone spend this much on a card? Especially given the trend of new GPU's popping up like chicken pox? I would not ever spend 899, or even 1000 dollars on a GPU when it will just become obsolete in a year, or two. That's asinine, and unjustifiable, especially considering with most mid-range cards you'll still max out any game at a playabile frame rate. For example, my 570 maxed out every game for 2 years, without an issue. The only hiccup I've had so far is Crysis 3.

In which case, I could just add in another 570, for considerably cheaper price than a 680, and get much better performance than a 680. You'd be a fool to pay for that GPU.

This card is obviously not for everyone and it's a bit ignorant to say it has no place. If you're someone who wants to run multiple high-res displays, then you're going to need this kind of GPU power to run games well.

And..... drum roll please...... learn what hardware actually draws.... psu calculators never account for all aspects and go by what manufacturers suggest based on mediocre and or average quality psu's and to cover their butts to be safe.

Those calculators are usually SUPER safe in their recommendations.  Even with that being said, the Asus calculator came out to 550 watts for me.  I have a quality 650 watt.  I'm sure I could swing a Titan with no problem at all.

Heck that calculator adds an extra 50w the psu for a 3rd hard drive but not a 2nd :lol also it cant do my system's config, but which what I could do it suggests a 750w while my own calculations suggests I max out at 465 at max TDP usage.

Yeah, it's bogus.  I know my system doesn't draw over 400-450 watts absolute max.  Current distribution to the 12-volt rails is a bigger deal than a PSU's wattage output when it comes to a gaming system anyways.

[QUOTE="trastamad03"]" As for launch, sources are indicating a release of GeForce Titan around 24th February 26th February. This isnt that far away much and expect more details as launch nears." What? Please be true...

I would only buy it if it's like $749 or less.. No more than that! I'll use the step-up program. How about you? Interested? :D

Definitely interested... Price is a bit high, then again, it's like buying 2 GPUs (2x GTX 670 FTW 4GBs)... It's definitely in my scope though. I also wanna see what AMD brings with the 8970-8990... but still playing games at 2560x1440 @ 120fps ona  single card so no more overheating GPUs... :Q I wannnnnttttttt

6GB VRAM is a lot, hardly any games get near 4 let alone 6, but it's great for future proofing.

Let's shake on it then. If it ends up being $749 or less, we're buying one each. :D lol

That would be so funny since it's better than a GTX 690...
