Dude please tell me you are still not using a Pentium 4? No one should be using a computer that's a decade old.

I've got the same video card as you in my laptop. But I have a dual core i5. I run most games well enough. Newer games I have to usually turn down most stuff, and go 720p, rather than 1080p, but they do work. With the single core pentium 4, though... I doubt it.

Pretty much this. Also, if you haven't tried it, play F.E.A.R. It's still one of the best single player shooters there is, and it would probably run well enough for you. I run it maxed out on my laptop, which has the same video card as you, TC. Granted, my laptop has a dual core i5, but I had a single core Athlon 64 in my old desktop from way back in the day, which is what I ran F.E.A.R. on when it first came out.

I first played Half Life 2 on a P4. You might try it if you haven't. Might as well try the other powerhouse of that era too, Doom 3.

You can play:

1) the HL games on that machine if you're in for some Freeman.

2) some older sport games like FIFA or whatever it was ... they don't change over the years at all anyways lol.

3) the first Fable game if you're in for some "modern" RPG ... or the Torchlight and Diablo games if you're in for some hack n' slash.

4) the Thief 1-3 with NO problems at all since your CPU is just single cored by the looks of things ... only thing you need is the widescreen mode which is nothing complicated.

5) the "newer" HD version of Bauldur's Gate from Steam (it's still on sale even) if you're in for some old school RPG.

6) Dungeon Siege 1-2 can offer you some good times ...

7) Rise of Nations is a good strategy which should run decently on your current setup - you can buy the Gold version (meaning game and expansion) from amazon at a discounted price at the moment even.

This just comes to mine when I think of good games for low-en computers.

My prev PC was a Pentium 4, and my specs were a bit lower than yours (P4 2.4ghz, 768mb ram, Radeon 9600). Here's what ran: - Prince of Persia Trilogy - Unreal Tournament 2004 - Far Cry - Sim City 3000 - Age of Mythology - Warhammer 40K Dawn of War - Company of Heroes - TES: Morrowind - TES: Oblivion ( low-mid - some effects crashed my PC though :P)

Delta Force 1,2,3 are all ok, I think.

What happened just now? My reply repeats like 5, 6 times and fill a whole page!

I'm surprised to see Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition running good (low settings or not, regardless) on your system. That CPU is a bottleneck.. If you would have had a dual core, it would have been a decent system to run almost anything 2007 and prior at good - great settings.

I think these will work just fine.

  • Hitman 2: Silent Assasin
  • Hitman: Blood Money
  • Prince of Persia Trilogy (Sands of Time, Warrior Within, Two Thrones)
  • STALKER: Shadow of Cernobyl
  • Half Life 1 + Opposing Force, Half Life 2 + Episode 1 & 2
  • Heroes of Might and Magic 5 + Expansions
  • Age of Mythology & Age of Empires 3 + Expansions
  • Civilization IV + Expansions
  • Vampire the Masquarade: Bloodlines
  • Gothic 2: Gold Edition
  • Torchlight I (should run like butter at acceptable settings)
  • Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer

He would have done so already if he had the choice, don't see why you'd want to take a stab at him instead of helping him out.

Heres some games I think should run on that pc which I've played and were fun for me anyways...

Civilization 3 (if you like turn based strategy at its best)

Freelancer (2003 game where you fly around in space from the creator of the classic Privateer)

Jagged Alliance 2 (turned based tactical 2d game)

GTA 3/GTA Vice City/San Andreas

No One Lives Forever 2

Sam and Max Seasons 1 and 2

Star Wars Knights of the old republic

Command and Conquer Generals & Zero Hour

Morrowind

Deus Ex

Simcity 3000 or 4

Medal of Honor Allied Assault

Hi. I still have a Pentium 4 3.2Ghz, 2GB DDR400, and a Radeon HD 4670 1GB AGP. So far the games (some of these require lowest settings at 800x600 or 1024x768 screen resolutions to be playable) that I was able to test out that haven't been mentioned on the previous posts are:

Smooth gameplay:

Command & Conquer 3

The Last Remnant

Fallout 3 GOTY

NFS Prostreet

Risen 1

Average and Below average but Playable:

COD MW 3

Sniper Ghost Warrior 1

Mass Effect 1

Disciples 3

NFS Undercover

Mirror's Edge

The Witcher 1 Enhanced Edition (runs smooth on low settings at chapter 1-2 but chapter 3 was so slow I had to stop)

Gears of War 1

Batman Arkham Asylum

Starcraft II Wings of Liberty

Crysis 1

Grid 1

For other games, I think you can check them out on youtube....just type on the search bar pentium 4 + games

Doom 3, Far Cry, Half Life 2, Stalker: Call of Pripyat, Prince of Persia, Sacred Gold (limited to 1024x768), Homeworld 2, Command & Conquer 3, Medieval 2: Total War, Rome: Total War, Tomb Raider Legend, Tomb Raider Anniversary, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light....

Might and Magic: Dark Messiah may work. But, it'd be close to taxing your PC. Same goes for Bioshock.

You can run pretty much any game that came out in 2006 or earlier. You can run some newer games, too, but you're likely going to have performance problems...
