Rocket Knight. You are amazing for picking that as #1. Sorry I can't contribute to the thread, but uh, I must share meh Rocket Knight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snsi61ez6tI Final boss http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5Jr2Zg1j1I Beggining of the game I hope you don't have headphones because there is a loud squeek in the videos, don't ask why I have no idea. But 1080p. Though I don't see why it needs a pc review ,I haven't played the 360 or PSN versions. I Think Trackmania needs one though.

not really, GS reviews are really lame.

Yes indeed, and their multiplat reviews are lazy... subtract .5 to 1 score to all pc counterparts especially if its delayed or released at a later time.

This. They just haven't been the same since all the best reviewers left and created Giantbomb or got other jobs.
#7 Posted by biggest_loser (24091 posts) -

You know they would have to pay for those PC versions themselves - the games they've already played - if the publishers of games don't send them free copies.

Its the publishers fault, not GS. They're going to send the version that they think will sell the most.

Alan Wake!
#9 Posted by topsemag55 (19063 posts) -

I guess nobody bothered to read the PC review of DA:O.

GS rated it a 9.5 and wrote that it smoked the other platforms, then they gave it GotY for the PC.

It's funny how corrupt the industry has become if reviewers don't review games if they don't get a free copy.

Oh god, a multiplat is much better than it's console counterparts because of well.. everything... In other news, the sky is blue and the sun is coming out.

An honest question would then be why are you posting in this forum? You don't have any PC games in your collection.:)

honestly I could care less what gets reviewed.

the publishers also dont want leaks, a quick look on the torrent websites show that 360 games are pirated weeks before release while pc games rarely are before release.

Half-Life 2 Episode 2 for christ sake!

You actually expect the reviewers here to pay with their own money for something they've already played through just so they can write maybe one paragraph on controls and visuals? It has nothing to do with corruption because those free copies are review copies and not all of those games are going to get high scores.
#19 Posted by millerlight89 (18596 posts) -
In my opinion we need a real PC gamer first. Kevin's reviews are laughable at best tbh. Most reviewers either coppy and paste from the console review or find lame ass reasons to take away points. I mean when I saw SC:C got a negative for PC controls making the game easier, I just laughed.
#20 Posted by ksg017 (12 posts) -

Here was something I even noticed from the list. Why was many of those free games not reviewed? America's Army 3, Alliance of Valiant Arms, Trackmania nations just seems weird that someone would not have the time to download the game and make a review..of it. Guess its just the nature of the times. It seems weird that even some of those multiplatformers of Sabotuer, Grid, need for speed shift, and even dang Bioshock 2 was never reviewed but have console reviews made. Some Others to Add:

  • Braid
  • GTR Evolution
  • Shadowgrounds Survivor
  • Combat Wings: Battle of Britain
  • Maplestory
  • Fear: Combat

how about gamespot actually REVIEW A GAME, rather than come up with some half-a**ed review (King's bounty the legend review)

#24 Posted by DeadManRollin (4134 posts) -
Fifa 10; they should have written how EA Sports tried to rip off PC gamers by releasing a new fifa game with old generation graphics.

It's funny how corrupt the industry has become if reviewers don't review games if they don't get a free copy.

For what it's worth, we regularly buy games for review when we're not sent them. Recent examples include Iron Man 2 and Record of Agarest War (the latter review is still in the works) and a number of downloadable games on PSN, XBLA, and Steam. We've never insisted on getting free copies of games here at GameSpot (we'll never write that we couldn't review the multiplayer because we only got one copy either - I forget where I read a review like that, but we always just buy more copies), but we have to work with publishers to get copies of games because otherwise we can't get them early.

I figured as much, you'll never make most people happy anymore.

I quit depending on them for PC reviews when I saw a review of a space combat simulator which got dinged for requiring a joystick and had a high learning curve. I miss the old timer Computer Gaming World people who seemed to have been replaced by then console-focused newbies.

#30 Posted by jedikevin2 (5218 posts) -
I added the games that were pmed to me couple days ago and added Darkfall online for you 4thiest. @JusticeConvert I pmed you a response base on a letter sent from Kevin-v to me. I hope that expresses what many users have stated to me and my feelings on it. @jun_aka_pekto That seems to happen a good bit on pure simulation games where joysticks are needed and a game loss points because of it.

you forgot to buy HL: EP2 from steam :P

For now Adding Blur to the list. I think it will get reviewed but it might not. The console version reviews have come in so for now i'll post to the list for reference.

#33 Posted by devious742 (3924 posts) -

I want them to review:

AI WAR Fleet command **heck pc gamer reviewed that game**

Distand worlds

Eschalon: Book II

#34 Posted by jedikevin2 (5218 posts) -
Adding those games to the list devious.
#35 Posted by harrisi17 (4010 posts) -

Im not too upset really, the big crossplat games get reviews on 360 for the majority it seems, and the PC exclusive (besides small crappy games no one wants) get reviewed.

I also don't take GS for what it used to be, I still look at reviews, but I go to Metacritic for my final decision on a close call purchase.

Fantasy earth Zero Added to the list.
#37 Posted by jedikevin2 (5218 posts) -
I was pmed from members to add Nation Red, Necrovision: Lost Company, and Switchball. They are added.
#38 Posted by jedikevin2 (5218 posts) -
Been 2 weeks. Editors have now gone back and reviewed Plain sight (2 months late), and blur is now reviewed. Was pmed sometime ago to add "madballs in babo: invasion"
#39 Posted by Pvt_r3d (7897 posts) -
Artificial Girl 3 and Sexy Beach 3
#40 Posted by OoSuperMarioO (6539 posts) -

It'll be marvelous if Gamespot Editors will post updated video feed impressions/reviews on new content patches or the current condition in mmos.

#41 Posted by jedikevin2 (5218 posts) -

@OooSupermario

They have stated sometime ago that they add new annotate as a side note on game reviews but they rarely use it. Most times, once a game comes out, it gets reviewed (if it even gets reviewed on pc) then its forgotten unless its a "Big name" game. At least they finally have backlog reviewed 1 PC game months after its release (plain sight). Hopefully they keep this trend up and continue to review the pc games. If they can review lesser known indie games on console dlc, they should be able to review anything else. We will see in time, if they continue to go back and review games they have missed.

#42 Posted by Dystonym (106 posts) -

honestly I could care less what gets reviewed.

TerrorRizzing

You COULD care less? So you do care at least a small amount? What a dumb expression. Not saying you're dumb, it's just the expression that is ridiculous.

In other news, Gamespot reviews have no personality and aren't always that accurate in my opinion.

#43 Posted by jedikevin2 (5218 posts) -
Prince of Persia:The Forgotten Sands is now added to the list.

scotty992
I remember when all everyone did was complain they are too low, they are being too harsh blah blah blah. Now everyone says this got a what? That game isn't good... etc... etc... Gamespot is a good reviewer if there is one, but frankly I only read reviews too learn about features of the game, not what people who aren't me think of it.
