I've noticed so far there are very few monitors that have g-sync. I mainly play fps games and wondering if it's worth it to spend $500-$800 for a g-sync monitor when I could just get the Asus VG248QE for $265 and use the extra money for sli or a better graphics card to raise my frames per second. Not like I couldn't get the g-sync mod for this monitor in the future anyway. What's your guy's opinions on this? Any of you have a g-sync monitor and can tell a huge difference?

I say save the money for a better GPU or another one (SLI/Crossfire).

Get the 1440P monitor, (QNIX QX2710 2560 X 1440), overclock it to 96hz - 120hz for only $300.

@Jr14: I'd pass on G-Sync. There's quite a few programers able to mimic g-sync using software only and some are in testing/getting close to being released.

Is G-sync worth it? Yes, of course. However, I prioritize a strong GPU setup over a G-sync monitor. G-sync is a luxury to compliment a good rig. If you have a limited budget, make sure that your rig is up to snuff first and foremost.
