Hi. When i put my windows 7 cd and go to bios to boot up from dvd i get 2 option to boot from 1st disk and they are.

P3: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH24N590

UEFI: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH24N590

My motherboard is a z77x-ud3h and at the top of the bios has UEFI Systems. Whats the difference and what would be best to format in. As seen as its a UIEF system is it best to format in UEFI HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH24N590 and whats the difference thanks.

UEFI is better, though for most people it makes no difference.

UEFI has support for GPT instead of MBR partitions for hard drives. This allows you to install Windows 64-bit on a 2+ TB hard drive without creating multiple partitions on the same drive. If you arent trying to install Windows on a 3 TB drive, then it doesn't seem like theres a difference. But you'd still want UEFI if your motherboard/installation supports it.
