I thought I would install my old Far Cry 2 game today but after I inserted the disc it loaded the disc but the disc is blank. I have windows 8.1 pro 64bit and i looked around and it seems to work fine on other people windows 8.1. When I open the disc in windows it blank and says files ready to be written. lol. Has my disc been formatted some how?.

Nah, probably a bad burn and your drive can't read it.

Try it on another PC.

Might be some copy protection problems. Maybe update your drive's firmware?

Well other dvd's games are fine just this one. I tried it again this morning after my PC been turned off all night. It just seems strange how it been wiped from the dvd. I will keep the cd key just in case that ubi decides to put it on Uplay at some point. I tried the cd key on steam but it doesn't work. lol.

It happens. Lifespan of a DVD isn't too big. Some are done after about 5 years.
