so my game is always running at 60 fps, but sometimes i still feel it lag like the framerate is dropping. and other times, though rarely, i experience a rubber banding effect

is this because the game is always online even when you're playing alone?

Yes, you will likely experience lag even if you are playing solo.

I'm guessing that it's because of it's online nature. I expect you experience this "lag" at the bridge just before the Siege Beast in act 3, for example.

yup... it will. the loot system is controlled server side to prevent tampering. you are -always- online while playing.

I know Blizzard had some major issues this weekend with battle.net, so that could be one of the problems...
