I've been buying a lot of games on steam lately and I'm wondering if I have too much compared to you guys. I enjoy most of them but some I never have time for. Should I be concerned about my video game buying habit? Especially since steam sales are next week.

Here's all my games:a

That's nothing, I've seen people who have 50-100 games in their Steam library. Currently I have 41 games in my Steam library while have a couple more that I bought not from Steam like Starcraft 2, Crysis, World in Conflict, etc.

And don't get me started on my 360, PS3, and Wii library.:P

No worries.

I'm reaching the point where I'm becoming concerned about my Steam purchasing, but I know there are people here with more games than me on there.

176 games in steam library and around 20 more hard copies, plus another 12 via different download sites. Between my desktop and laptop, I have only 31 installed at this time. Completed (single player of course) around 80 games to date.

I have 189 games on Steam and about 20 on other sites ( D2D, Impulse ) and about 300 retail games. Want to hear something funny ?? My friend downloaded and installed " all " of his Steam games onto his rig....he was so proud of himself...bragging to anyone who would listen. A month later his HDD died. lol It also took him almost 2 hours to defrag after downloading all those game... Me I only keep 4 or 5 games on my computer at one time....as I have a tendency to re-install Windows 2x a year. Nothing like a clean rig..

My game desktop icons have now covered half of my wallpaper screen. I don't know whether to be proud of it or not. Major backlog-itis.

Dude people got over 300 games... my advice... stick to quality rather than quantity and your problem solved.

Its not that hard to play lot of games if this is pretty much your main hobby (like for me, huh..... ).

We don't. I've probably played all of my retail boxed games because those I've collected over the years. But my Steam collection of 130 games is much more recent and I haven't even touched many of them. Some of them came with bundles, some of them I just bought because they were so incredibly cheap.

That's what a game is. The disc isn't the game, the data on the disc is the game. The disc is just a disc.

I have over 1200 PC games, still in their (mostly) big boxes, with decent 80+ page manuals, maps, etc! I also have another 400 Commodore 64 games and around 40 PS1 RPG's (played on PC under emulation). My first game was brought in 1983 and I haven't sold any! It's called a collection. Some collection stamps, other have a library room wotj books, I have a computer room with a games collection!

Without me noticing it has already become an investment, as I have been offered £12,000 by a rich frind who wanted to have a colection without the hassle of buying them individually!

Like a good record collection,it's nice if I feel like playing the roginal Half Life (1997) or X-Com (1994) again, I can just get the box off the shelf, install it (in less than 5 minutes as old games are so small in size!) and be play it for a couple off weeks with no problem!

Currently, for example,,I am playing The Witcher 2 and the original Fallout! :)

lol... if you think you have too many games, then I must have a serious problem; I have about 50 different games and 2 or 3 demos loaded right now. There are over 300 games on my Steam list; and just off the top of my head, about 200+ boxed copies( guess I'll have to count them one day too lol).

... you have a long ways to go before you need to start worrying about anything :)

I've played every "known" game from 2000 to now, loads of unknown indies, hundreds of games from 1990-2000, hundreds from 1980-1990. Haven't finished all the games of course, but most of them. And playing world of warcraft for 3 years took probably a close amount of time or even more I took to play all of those games. How do I find time? Few hours per day is pretty much enough for all of that, unless you're 15 or just discovered computers. All games are short, only games what take time are sandbox games, otherwise almost every game is 2-10 hours depending if you're a slowpoke/bad player or not.

115 games on Steam, with about 20-25 more on hard copy and 5 more on GoG. So I have about 140 games on PC. I do all my gaming on PC.

I am quite embarrassed about the sheer amount of games I have, actually. Still, I make sure a maximum amount of only 10 games are installed at a time.

Too many? You have 15 games, and several of them are free or possibly came in a bundle (Orange Box). I have almost 100 games and am still adding more all the time.

Add some games to your collection and go pick up Left for dead 2 and the F.E.A.R collection. They're both on sale on steam right now.

F.E.A.R. is a definite must IMO. Great FPS with an excellent atmosphere. The fluid mechanics and the AI also make the gameplay very challenging and fun. The story may be a little hard to follow, but that's really good too.

That is impressive. I cant imagine how much space that must take up though. I have been gaming since the mid 80s on all text MS-DOS games, but the size of the boxes have caused my to throw away 99% of the boxes and manuals over the years.
