- Better performance with multi core CPUs

- Load off GPU

- Better performance for mobiles and tablets

I think it's good that it's not releasing for a while, so it's actually a new product and not just a quick update.

Win 9 then... Oh well I will probably upgrade my CPU around that time or a little later. I'll get Win 9 and all it hopefully good features then :P

and will probaby be a long time after that to get full DX12 native games like it took forever to get full dx11 native games (BF3, Crysis 3)

february 2018 new pc, 4k monitor and first games with direct x 12. looking forward to it.

# Nice thing about Direct x 12 though it will support AMD 7000 and above gpu and all of Nividia 600/700 and above gpu now what im wondering intel announced that there 4th gen cpu will be supported I wonder if there 3rd gen will be eventully supported so not to worry people current gen setups are set for the future....

nVidia, AMD, and Intel working on reducing OpenGL overhead as well. Mantle may not take off, but it's effect on the API market is significant.
