Hi guys, I recently got Skyrim as a gift(huzzah), and I really want to start playing it. However, I have barely any space left on my laptop. Is it possible to install Skyrim onto an external flash drive(of any size) so that I can play it straight from the flash drive? If I do this, will my save data remain intact? Also, can my laptop with these specifications even run Skyrim? Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5750 @2.00GHz (2CPUs) ~2.0 GHz Memory: 3062 MB RAM DirectX Version: DirectX 10 Thanks so much guys.

Don't even bother trying dude. Just clear out some space on your HDD. Skyrim isn't a very big game in comparison to some out there.

Edit: Based on your specs I highly doubt that the game would work anyway :(

Alright. I have some questions though: Why should I not bother trying? Please explain. Also, what part of my specs do I need to improve? New graphics card? Please elucidate. Thanks a lot for your explanation though, it really helps.

OK. Well if you install a game or most programs on an external HDD or flash drive there can be problems related to the registry. There are work arounds but clearing a few GB of space on your HDD would be far more reliable

Concerning your specs. I don't know what GPU you have but I am assuming that it is integrated and by Intel. Pretty much all of Intels GPU are bad for gaming. Skyrim would run like crap (if at all).

Yeah and it's a laptop... right? That limits upgrades immensely

How about moving some of the stuff on the hard drive to the USB drive. And installing Skyrim on the hard drive, if you can run it, that is.
