Ive been poking around the idea of getting her one for a while and she seems to really want one. Thing is I know nothing about laptops, what they can run, how much they should be priced and most of what I've seen leads to stores like best buy or equivalent which I would never trust with my own desktop.

Any suggestions on some good models I could look out for? Or somewhere that builds them custom? I'd like to put a 1000$ budget on it but that can be quite flexible.

Any help would be greatly appreciated guys. Thank you.

^Here's a few suggestions.

Also, the ibuypower site lets you customize/build it.

Thanks! Those looks pretty awesome especially the Valkyrie.

I'll keep searching for sure but I'll checking out that website some more for sure.

I currently using Lenovo G580 with i5, it came with 4Gb RAM but I've added another 4Gb SODIM.

Pretty sweet laptop; I've bought wireless Logitech mouse real cheap and I'm satisfied

Apparently they sold out but you can search it on amazon

Do you know what he means by a "gaming" laptop? Because integrated gpu is not going to be good for that.

Friend has the y510p and really likes it, I like it too, except it is loaded with a crap ton of bloatware and windows 8 sucks. Outside of that best bang for your buck you can possibly get out of any "gaming" laptop.

Lenovo has started sucking more recently in terms of customer service (currently using an older x220t).

Also you can order a single gpu set up with an optical drive (you can actually order the second gpu seperately if you desire, that's also a neat feature) from lenovo for like 120$ less.

You can also look at refurbished models on Newegg or some other website... I got my G75-VX from newegg.ca for 900 with taxes and shipping compared to 1600$ for a brand new one. Works flawlessly and powerful enough to run BF4 @1080p on med/high settings running @50-60fps.

^^ I mean its pretty much the only option in that price range and is incredibly good bang for your buck. Just SLI and the drivers on it are a pain in the ass.

You can also consider a msi gx 70 It has a Amd Radeon 8970m for the GPU but a Amd A10-6750m for a cpu.

I got mine in october I'm pretty happy with I like to stream skyrim on it on twitch.tv for time to time While it can't play games on the highest settings it still does pretty good in my opionio but If had the money I would of went for msi's GT 70 since That's got an I say I7 and a gtx 780m But the msi gx 70 was only $1150 so I went with it. One of these days I'm gonna get around to making a video for review for the laptop.

Loading Video...

Edit: I was just thinking she might not like 17" laptop so u could go with the msi gx 60 instead since its pretty much the same thing but its 15.6" screen
