Think I might have found the problem I need Vsync on in game options otherwise when I turn it off it just crashes, that's not normal of course?

a quick Google search led to needing to use display port to get 144Hz. DVI will only get you 120Hz. Perhaps that is causing the issue.

DVI should be fine.

I always use DP over others. Its the only way my 4k allows 60fps.

I am stumped at your issue.

What aspect ratio are you running it at?

I have figured It out I didn't realise you had to have a graphics cards that has to push 144 fps or over to utilise 144hz, ya reckon sli 970 do the trick?

Can't really get much better unless you go SLI GTX 980 but you will need a fast cpu as well what is your current cpu?

It would but wait until AMD releases their cards. NVIDIA may price drop.

you don't need to hit 144fps for the monitor to work, thats just the max it can display

Is it possible that you just have a faulty monitor?

Wich monitor did you get? I just got the acer 1080p 144hz gsync monitor. Im running it at 144hz just fine with my gtx970. But as others have said you need to use displayport for 144hz i believe. My monitor only has displayport because its gsync.

@quikdash6: that is incorrect , I too just got a 144hz monitor and you can go to

that rate using dvi. As for the TC, that isn't normal. You should reinstall video drivers.

@ankor77: the display port is for gsync , it only works with that connection. But the dvi port can do 144 Hz refresh rate. It sounds like he has a driver problem. Every game I have works just fine with my Asus vg248eq.

I've had issues in past builds with SLI and drivers. For the longest time, driver 182.50 was the only stable driver for my 8800 GTS 512MB cards - I had to use the driver for almost a year before stable ones under 25x.xx came out. I also came across drivers at the start of 3xx versions on my GTX 570s that would cause the 2nd monitor to never wake up from sleep mode.

Try the latest driver (if you're not already using it) or roll back to one of the last recent WHQL drivers to see if that helps at all.

Yeah constant stories like this are why I will never do crossfire or SLI ever..
